The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of
Privet Drive ... The only person left outside was a teenage boy who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside
number four.’

Yes, it’s the opening paragraph of the long-awaited new Harry Potter novel, in which Professor Dumbledore promises to tell 15-year-old Harry ‘everything.’ Booksellers across the world can start cancelling holidays, following the announcement that the publication date for J K Rowling’s fifth Harry Potter title, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will be Saturday 21 June
2003—the day of the summer solstice in the UK.

The book will be published simultaneously in the UK, US, Canada and Australia to a global embargo time of one minute past midnight British Summer Time. This equates to the following times on 21 June in Australia and New Zealand:

New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania: 9.00am
South Australia: 8.30am
Western Australia: 7.00am
New Zealand: 11.00am

I read that they are making a Scary Movie 3 - a spoof on Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Due to be released in October 2003 US - possibly December 2003 in Australia.

Something to consider:

HP & Philosopher's Stone: 223 pages, 152 min
HP & Chamber of Secrets: 251 pages, 161 min
HP & Prisoner of Azkaban: somewhere in the middle, but closer to ~300 pages.
HP & Goblet of Fire: 630+pages
HP & Order of Phoenix : 1/3 again as long

So the question is: Given Chris Columbus was able to make two 2.5hr long movies from two relatively skinny books, how long are the other movies going to be?! Real bum-numbers I'm guessing!
