I remember back when the first book came out, I had a read of it, but I didnt like it at all. Then two years ago, I read the whole series and now love it.

In regards to the ending, Rowling probably wrote it like that in fear of little 12 year olds coming and murdering her if she made something bad happen to the main 3 characters. At least she got a couple of deaths in there.

Alan Rickman, as others have said, dominates everyone else in the movies. He is ridiculously good at it.

I really hope this movie is better than the last one. I absolutely hated that last movie. What the hell was with burning down "The Burrow". Why?!?!?!

Lastly, to whoever said Emma Watson has an annoying voice, you are cray. She has the hottest voice ever.

It's levi-OH-sa, not levi-oh-SAA...

I am personally not a fan of the movies anywhere near as much as the books. Having read the series over 10 times all the way through, I can't help but compare all the bits they missed out. The last movie just confused me as to why they added in stuff that wasn't in the books, yet couldn't include everything that was.

They always seem to miss out the battle scenes, especially in the 6th one, the book describes in detail the battle with DA versus the death eaters, but this was left out of the movie. Pretty disappointed. Hopefully the battle of Hogwarts in the last film makes up for it.

Never read the books and have not watched any of the movies, load of shite. I hope Due Date kills it at the Box Office.

Exactly. Yet they burn down the god damn Burrow!
This is why the 6th movie was a steaming pile of shit.

If you've never read the books or watched the films, how would you know it's a load of shite? :o

As for the 6th film, I found it to be easily the most watchable of the films. Though they left out a lot of details, none were important. I wasn't bothered by the attack on the Burrow, it added to the feeling of growing danger and being under siege that was building up through the film.

I felt that the 6th film captured the essence of the book much better than previous films. That's the art of going from book to film. The early films were shit because they focussed on getting as many details from the books as they could, in lieu of actually looking at what the book was doing, where it was going, the story being told, the character development, etc.

HP6 was the least faithful to the individual events of the book, but was the most faithful to the story itself. It was also the most well constructed and best acted of the films, in my opinion, anyway.

Yeah that epilogue is sickening. IMO Rowling did it just to close off any chance of a spin off - I reckon he would have hated writing it, but it's a better option than having some two-bit hack come along and ruin the whole series with a shitty spin off book. By writing such a cheesy ending, she closed off any possible twists in the characters lives.

I love the books and just tolerate the movies, but I'm always excited the first time I see them. The 6th movie was so frustrating, why they felt the need to burn down the burrow, yet exclude crucial memories is beyond me. Good luck Harry figuring out what the other horcruxes are meant to be (I'm sure they've figured a way to fix this, but I found it annoying that the 6th book was pretty much about preparing Harry for his journey in the next book, yet they were too busy with the romance plot lines to include it).

I didn't really understand the 6th movie. Might have been because I hadn't read the book in so long or could have been the fact I was kind of napping during parts of it.

Something embarassing about a 27 yr old male reading kids books. Plus most of my reading is done on holidays in public by pools and the ladies..

I read the books, but after the first couple I was getting to the age where I was reading new releases more out of loyalty than anything else. They are excellent children's fiction though - honestly, you just have to pick up crap like Twilight to see how superior it is to the competition.

I have tried to watch most of the movies at some point but I have had difficulty getting interested in them. They're awfully long.
