seriously, was speaking to my physio a month ago and he was telling me australia has the best, or among the best, orthopedic surgeons in the world. and that australian athletes traveling overseas to see a specialist were kidding themselves.
Not to be a dick about it but LOL

who you go to for when you need good reco?:D:D:D

Hang on a minute! It's not long ago you were pushing someone who wasn't a physio re your back issues.

Re orthopods. Depends on what you are having done. Knee reco, navicular issues, then JF. Rotator Cuff, then Hoy etc etc. Specialties with specialties. No more than a personal point of view of course.

:D

out of curiosity, what would be the standard price for a knee reco with health care cover?

With private health mine had me out of pocket about $3000, but it will vary depending on the surgeon used, hospital stayed in and other factors.

Clubs that have co-captains are shit.

A club with co-captains has won a premiership more recently than us.

The final make-up of the leadership group has not yet been announced, but I think it's a fair bet that Bartel will be taking a back seat and Taylor will be the new vice captain. And, with all due respect, Taylor will never be the captain on any more than a caretaker basis, while Selwood remains at the club.

http://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2014-02-26/future-leadership-group

Over pre-season training Geelong’s skipper handed over the responsibilities and duties from the leadership group to a number of upcoming and talented Cats.

The six young Cats chosen for the job were, Cam Guthrie, George Horlin-Smith, Mitch Duncan, Allen Christensen, Nathan Vardy and Steven Motlop.

Despite having guidance from both Joel Selwood and Harry Taylor, Selwood says as far as the club is concerned the above Cats are the one and only leadership group.

The current leadership group will remain for the Cats next NAB Challenge against Melbourne. This will give the guys more pre-game experience before the 2014 leadership group is chosen.

Last year’s leadership group was Selwood, vice captain Jimmy Bartel, Harry Taylor, James Kelly, Steve Johnson, Andrew Mackie and Tom Hawkins.

“We’ll have a vote coming up shortly to finalise what the 2014 leadership group will look like, but we’ll probably wait until after the Melbourne game so the guys can just get the game experience as being the leadership group and how you receive the game and what goes on within the footy club’s organisation,” Selwood explained.

I'm happy with Selwood/Taylor in the main roles, but I think some new blood (almost certainly coming from one or two of the names above and Josh Caddy) should be injected this year or next. Since he's a couple of years older than Selwood, like I said, Taylor will almost certainly never be captain of the club on a permanent basis. But I wouldn't mind someone like Duncan, Guthrie, Christensen or Caddy serving alongside Taylor, as one of those guys could be the next captain of the club.

Take a moment to think how far up skit creek we'd be right now if he'd gone to the dockers. Now the all Australian CHB is still at the club and our vice captain. Well deserved H.

Rhys Palmer come on down!

That's a bingo. Gysenn said he was thankful that Freo didn't get Harry and I replied that they picked Palmer instead which turned out to be a very bad decision.
