Hart's 3rd quarter!!

What an amazing quarter of football by S.Hart last night! He racked up 15 touches in the third quarter, and was one of the main contributors in turning the game around, giving the Lions the ascendency to win the game. The amount of times he sent the ball forward, putting Port's defense under extreme pressure was phenomenal. Along with his tidying up work around the ground, which stopped many Port attacks.

Hart, along with B.McDonald, were the ones who really made the difference in the 1% contests during the 3rd quarter.

Apart from a few early errors, Hart had a great night.

Agreed with both your sentiments Olmy and Mr Ripper. Shaun Hart was magnificent. And I don't think I've ever seen Leigh speak about one of his players like that either. Akermanis also gave Harty a glowing report.

Excellent post, Peter.
Hart was the catalyst for the 3rd quarter revival.
And then other players came into the game.
Big, Bad Bustling Beau though has played a lot better.
A bit worrying as his form has dropped a cog in the last few weeks.
Up until then, he had been instrumental in firing up the midfield at centre bounces.
What are your thoughts on playing Richmond or Carlton in the Preliminary Final?

If we play Richmond, we should win. However, they seem to have an ability to get under the guard of opposition teams, and the Lions would not want to take any chances whatsoever.

I would not be able to live, if we lost to Richmond, letting them make the Grand Final.

If we play Carlton, the Lions will have a lot to play for, and it won't just be making the GF.

The last four times we have played Carlton, we have been absolutely humiliated. The Lions need to show they have reversed this, in order to prove to all, that they are indeed worthy of a premiership victory.

I believe we can do it.

Yeah, I thought Hart was terrific in the 3rd quarter. Black and Akermanis also stood up when they were needed.

But I thought Keating was a crucial player on the night, he doesn't always attract the headlines, but his job on Primus along with his immaculate conversion early on when Port Adelaide were looking to take control was invaluable to the Lions.

After stepping up in such a big game, surely now any talk of trading Keating will be forgotten.

Peter,
I do not think Richmond can come back after Friday night.
Carlton will thrash them.
Playing Carlton on Saturday week will suit us.
They are a big occasion team but have a terrible record against us in finals up here.
Just the sort of game we will need prior to meeting with Essendon or Port Adelaide.
And just for the record, I am sure Port will really push Essendon and would not be surprised if they won.

Right about Akermanis and Black, but only after Hart produced some magic.
Then the Leppitsch move up forward added that extra sting to take the game away.
