It's got nothing to do with the media, or how much shit he does on the radio, or his celebrations and "rev ups." Cousins has been, and continues to be, a solitary figure at Richmond, separate from our list of young players, aloof and very much his own man. He's not a leader of men. He's a model no doubt, but not a coach.
Didn't say he was dumb, but he's not an outstandingly smart footballer. Players that go on to become coaches are. Cousins is equisitely skilled and a tremendous athlete.
I never said anything about Campbell being popular only amongst players, Wallace and Rawlings rated him very highly and if I remember correctly Eade was a huge fan of him at the Dogs and was sad to see him go. That's what I was basing the comment on Campbell on, not whether the players do/don't like him. I mentioned Tuck as being the only example, player or otherwise, who apparently doesn't like him as a coach.
Collins was one of our better players against Hawthorn in the NAB. He clearly just belongs, most supporters should recognise this. The only reason he's not in the 22 is because he's nursing something.
