Was in today's Herald Sun.

ABC won Friday nights, while 3AW won Saturday arvo, Saturday night and Sunday arvo.

Triple M were a distant third throughout, with Saturday afternoon their best performing timeslot at 8% of market share. They have some problems, none moreso the fact they have gone from having a strong commentary team to a less consistent one. They have too many different commentary teams for starters - Brayshaw, Quartermain, Hunt, Denner, McLachlan, McGuire and Darcy all call game for them - and probably use people in the wrong timeslots. It's almost as if they haven't given any thought to which callers and comments people would work well together.

Their coverage on Monday night was quite good with Hunt and Denner calling and Frawley and Brownless in special comments. Brownless should be on with Rex, JB and Garry Lyon on a Saturday for example.

They need to go back to the drawing board and rework the personnel they have got.

I agree. I also thought the M's sounded good on Monday Night. Brownless and Frawley were a good combo. I liked the Hunt/Denner call too. Pretty entertaining stuff.

I too listened on Monday and found the Hunt/Denner, Frawley and Brownless very entertaining. In particular I have extremely enjoyed Denner's calls, he has a good style. Where does he come from? Why hasn't he called on Melbourne radio before? Denner is a big win for MMM! Is he an ex-footballer, cricketer?? Someone told me he was a Marathon Runner?

Everybody stop looking; :D I found them in Wedneday's Herald Sun.
Can they be accurate? I find it hard to believe that so many listeners would swing so much. Like, Triple M up 5.6 points on Friday nights? Carm off it!!

Is this the most inaccurate comment ever on bigfooty??

Triple M had the biggest swing toward it on every time slot.
They had market share of 12.3 up 2.8 On Saturday afternoon, gained 5.6 to number on friday night. They have overtaken 3aw as the number 1 commercial station.

For a station which rates at about 5.6 during weekdays to rate so well and be the number 1 football station is quite an achievment especially to Jb and Garry Lyon who are the staples of the most important and advertising friendly call.

I'm sorry to get all annoyed but I own a small business and your comment is sooo misleading for any potential advertisers. You should really check your facts and check them again before you comment on them. Possibly one of the most inaccurate posts on bigfooty

I reckon the ratings say that they have the perfect team on any given day.

Agree 100%! Should've checked the post. Definetly will next time because it is quite embarrasing.

Regarding your post and the need to change commentary teams.

Definetly Brian Taylor leaving threw a spanner in the works and Brayshaw not being able to call North games, who have played on 3 Saturday arvo and one Friday night. And most of these games occured at the start of the year thus the low ratings as their was an unstable calling team.

But I think the teams which they have are pretty good, apart from
maybe Luke Darcy on the Friday night call, I think Rex Hunt should join James
Brayshaw on Fridays as well as Saturday afternoons. I just think Darcy voice breaks way too much during the call which was evident during Buddy's amazing goal last week.

And just because I very much dislike quartermain I think Eddie should take over the Sunday afternoon call- but only because I hate quarters.

Once again very sorry! Oh and sorry for 2008 as well :)

Thanks for the info boys.

I'm glad Triple M is doing well, I enjoy Rex and Brayshaw calling together, but I agree that Darcy is pretty mediocre.

It still isn't the same without Brian Taylor, and I still think Taylor fits more within Triple M's style, but I guess the money was too good from AW.

What does everyone think of Brian Taylor on 3AW?
