I love all the special features you get on DVD's nowadays - in fact I love DVD's full stop!!

Most DVDs released now have directors commentary as we all know, with some having 2 or 3 commentarys by the actors, crew, and sometimes SFX men.

Commentarys are a great addition to DVD's and I'm glad they are there, but to this day I have not watched a film all the way through with the commentary.

The commentarys can be boring, but they are very interesting at times, and I'm the type that will put the commentary on, and then just skip to certain scenes where I think the commentary will be interesting [a nude scene, for example!! :D :D :D]

But this poses the question: has anyone ever listened to a DVD commentary all the way through the movie? :)

Also Ocean's Eleven.

I watched both the cast and crew commentaries, not a bad DVD that one.

"Will you accompany me to Pit 5?"

I always watch the commentaries all the way through. They never get boring really...

Yeah, I've listened to the commentary on a lot of my DVD's. Won't get to listen to them all though just don't have the time. Ghostbusters was one of my favourite ones, along with The Dish and also some of the ones on Season 2 of the Simpson's.

Yeah - that was good because it had the silouettes of the three commentators on the screen, wasent it?

Ghostbusters is a top film and an excellent DVD.

It is avaliable to buy [I have it!], but there is no commentary.

I've heard that a 2 disc special edition with loads of extras will be avaliable after christmas.

Wait for the Special Edition to come out late this year or early next year. The current one's pretty crap in my opinion.

by the way, is there a website around that tells of the release dates if DVD's in australia??

Try
EzyDVD
Total DVD
and DVD plaza has a good forum where they are discussed, etc

It depends - some are dry, boring and completely worthless. Some are interesting and actually fun to listen to. Depends a lot on the people doing the commentary :) I try to listen to most commentaries at least once. A tip... turn the subtitles ON, so you can at least follow the movie at the same time.

Some good ones

Sam mendez - american beauty
Bring it on - I forget who the director was
The Godfather
Austin Powers
Guy Ritchie - Snatch

I watched the Rocky one, Shrek and the Patriot all the way through. It is really good to hear what they producers/ directors have to say

Bound. I imported it from the States. The commentary is almost as good as movie. It starts a little slow, but when Jennifer and Gina arrive (about 45 minutes into the commentary... why?? who knows) it really picks up. Some of the crap coming out of their mouths is hilarious.

It's shame they weren't there for the Lesbian scene. :p
