Has high scores made you reckless with trading?

would anyone argue that NGB> Volt the week Brown was omitted was a wasted trade? At the time i thought it was a bit rushed and not a good trade but it has turned out well for me..
For the record i have 15 left, ablett, higgins, mitch brown, skip being my only inj worries

Here's something interesting for people to ponder.

The only trade I regret this season is one I didn't do. Raines -> Gilbert after round 2. It was all set...I was even on the final confirmation screen when I pulled out and saved the trade. Would've netted me a lot of extra points (Gilbert vs my back EMG Suban), and gotten me a cheap as chips keeper.

Yes, you can be conservative, and generally when you're not sure then don't trade. However, sometimes you've got to trust your gut and back your judgement. I picked Gilbert as being a break-out player if he could secure a backline spot in the Saints side. It was clear after roudn 2 that he had secured the spot, but i didn't back my gut feeling, and I've regretted it.

He was on my radar all PS, but then I thought he would be required to play too tight a role in the backs for saints while mcguire/hudghton were out. Sigh.

I just never liked the look of Gilbert, to be honest. I watched him all of last year and he was, I thought, soft and slow. Seems to be scoring well but I just never liked the kid. You have to love your players a bit. Just a little. Just enough. Gilbert I could never love.

When i traded raines to geary people on here gave me a hard time about going sideways but I still think it was the right decision.

But in true Kornes style, give him a chance to play this week. Was Sprained shoulder, we have a sunday game. Hope that he comes up. If not i am sure he will only miss a week. As a Deledio owner i kinda hope Kornes misses (even although i have Kornes).
As a Port Adelaide supporter I would hope you would prefer Delidio misses and that Kane tags Axel Foley!

Better make comment on the OP, I only trade when I have to, which this year has already been 5 times as the likes of Ottens, Knights and Birchall have fallen. For me, the key is to swoop on the premiums you want when their price is right, sacrifice your injured players for underpriced risers (like Birchall to Gilbert for example) and pick up the rookies who are more likely to play (even if they cost more) when the time is right to cull a cash cow. This way they cover you if your squad has injuries and will hopefully rise more in value for another cull come finals eve time.

Obviously the strategy depends on if you want to win the league or the overall competition.
