I don't care if this is harsh. 10 points up with 30 seconds to go, 15 metre chip to Derickx. There is no one around him, regulation chest mark. He drops it. Now I know you will all state that it wasn't him that cost is the game, but other factors (e.g our horrible first half). But in isolation, that pathetic mistake by Derickx cost us the game. He marks that easy chest mark and we win by 10 points. Instead we lose by 2. He owes bigtime! I'd rather keep Graham in the team for when Ivan returns next week.

Fair enough. But you don't think the 6 goal head start we gave them was Derickx's fault too do you?
It absolutely is x mans fault. That six goal lead was pegged back and pushed two goals the other way when he was given a gift which he should have taken and used up at least 15 seconds. That would have meant we were then 10 points up with thirty seconds to go and the ball somewhere around our 50 metre line.

Physically impossible to lose from there.

Yes he can be blamed.

It was all there bloody fault, the side has lost the plot, when we were playing fantastic footy it was all about "To repay the supporters for all the hard years" and "no longer get pushed around" attitude, well they arent playing anywhere near the hunger they were 2 months ago, they are playing selfish football, they no longer hunt in numbers they expect too few to do all the hard work.

Bunch of selfish lazy pricks thats what they are, 10 points up with 40 seconds to go, well **** me we should have nailed them in the first half and we wouldnt have to rely on a second gamer to save us a 10 point lead against a team that hadnt won all year. All of them should hang their heads in shame and walk in our shoes for 30 years.

Twenty to three in the morning and I'm still replaying in my head. Like a bad dream.

Even the 90 minutes I just spent watching Cameron Diaz slut it up in Bad Teacher didn't help. That's not good.o_O

It was lazy and they expected to win so they lost.

Not luck or anything other than failing to win a game they should win because they feel entitled despite being nothing much.

Look at the bright side. We got a run into mid July this year which is 3 months longer than usual.

U know what the real kicker will be, we'll probably come out and win the next 2 but it will all be in vain cause of this. We are good at winning games when the season is shot... Mentally weak, repaying the supporters what a load of #**%#!!

Simple fact is this, if that was Miller who dropped that chest mark, most would be rallying at Punt Road this morning ready to lynch him .... but wait, it's not Miller ....it's a simple mistake when it's one of people's golden boys. It was a simple under 13s type error!

Why was he even playing? He has showed nothing at VFL level, nothing last week and was terrible again yesterday. Should we be surprised that he dropped our season?

Not surprised one bit ... as you correctly suggest ... showed nothing at VFL level, big reach thinking he would all of a sudden start producing in the big league???

Just watched the last 30 secs, 2 goals up and two simple dropped marks. Terrible. Chest was marked (it was really a 20 metre pass lightly weighted to the chest too) and it would been game over. Unbelievable.

It doesn't matter what the conditions were, at every level of footy you are expected to take a simple chest mark, let alone playing in the AFL. Absolutely disgraceful, as was Houli's manning up of Hunt in the forward 50. Just not god enough at all.

I'ma Houli fan, but that manning up at game's end was sub-par. Simply awful.

Think you'll find the good lady in question walked out the door at Punt Road on the afternoon of 25.9.82 some time around 2 pm EST.
The title of this thread and the pic of the streaker in the Greatest Richmond photos thread reminded me of someone saying a few years back, I think it was on the Coodabeens that the streaker, who ran out during the third quarter of the 82 grand final, represented a curse upon the Richmond football club causing perpetual heartache for the club and its fans ever since.
Can't remember the exact details but in order to lift the curse we need another streaker to run out onto the G (possibly with a Tigers scarf this time). Richmond can then return to being the powerhouse club it once was.
Any female fans on BF or blokes willing to donate their better half to this noble cause? Perhaps a run out at 3/4 time against the Blues in two weeks?
