Well with Harris and D.Smith, and hopefully Pickett being groomed for midfield roles, maybe Adam Simpson can re-define himself as a ruckman like he did in the 97 PF against the Saints! I mean it could be worse - we could still have Crapuano...

Seriously, L.Smith leaving isn't ideal BUT I don't think he was ever going to get a game unless Spider or Corey got injured. This would have placed him only marginally ahead of Drew Petrie in competing for the same spot.

To put a positive spin on it, Petrie may get a chance sooner than he would have if Smith was still there, which over the course of time will probably benefit him even if it means being #1 ruckman in the magoos instead of #2 behind Smith.
