Word that i have on the matter from a colleague of mine involved with the Blues is that Marc has agreed to terms with the club (as we all know) but the club is holding off until they know what is a realistic chance in the trade period/PSD. This allows them to structure Marcs contract in a way that will help perhaps free up some money for a new player to come across, and simply give Marc a back ended deal.
He says that Marc is 100% staying, but the delay is simply Marc agreeing to help out the club with potentially a big name signing come trade time.
Sounds pretty right to me.

Hmmm, blood that is bluish is blood without oxygen in it. It could be some sort of heart defect or even a blood disease. Regardless of the cause if his blood has a low capacity for oxygen transport it would be severely limiting his aerobic potential and is something the club doctors should be looking in to.He'd do anything for our club, bleeds Navy Blue!
Perhaps the club ignoring this potentially serious medical condition and forcing him to play out the season is a factor in him not resigning, in a similar way to Judd reportedly being upset with having to play injured late last year?

He is already worth one top five pick plus a early first rounder.
It does not matter anyway - he will re-sign with Carlton.
The delay is solely to allow Carlton more flexibility if they should sign a big name player during the trade week (eg Warnock)....
The rumor I've heard is that Marc Murphy wants to stay at Carlton but we're completely out of cash after paying 1 million and 1.5 million for Fev and Judd respectively. We also had to make a choice between Murphy and Gibbs as both also demanded a million each. We payed Gibbs.
Looks like we have to part ways with the young and brilliant Murphy. Apparently of all of the other clubs in the AFL, North Melbourne is his preferred destination. - The reasons being that NM was the club he supported as a child and also because playing with NM will connect him with some corporate heavyweights, setting him up for life after footy.

Very interesting that he is yet to sign, I dont care what anyone says - he should be sign, sealed - and delivered by now..
Definately have him before Gibbs, every day of the week, Murphy is a future brownlow medalist, has had a great yr this yr - and will only improve, Gibbs is going ok, but wont be anything flash..
