Has Sidebottom become elite?

Sidebottom has been extremely good lately and is playing as well as elite players play.

But, you think to be considered 'elite', he'd have to maintain his form for a while longer that.

And as others have said, it would be handy to have a definition so we all knew what we were measuring against!!
 
Nope, not yet. I think he's taken the step up from being 'Promising Youth' to genuinely good midfielder now. He'd step into most midfields on his own merits based on how he's been playing and not just because he's young with scope for improvement.

But honestly.... He's currently averaging about 28 disposals or more per game and has been a real dead eye from set shots under pressure. His confidence is sky high and I don't see much slowing him down.

I think with him, Beams, Thomas, Pendles, Welligham, etc, we will be able to cover Dane Swan in the coming weeks.

This is about right.

Word has lot all meaning though. They use it for just about anyone these days.

I think someone even came close to daring to use it for Mitch Robinson once. Ugh.
 
Him and Beams are only in their fourth season with the club, too, which is awesome. Who cares about the 'elite' tag when you have a bunch of guys like that developing their skillsets for the years ahead?
 
The three, in form up and coming youngsters in the league would be Sidebottom Dangerfield and Kennedy. You guys have a great player and if their form continues they will all be considered elite by eoy. Cant wait for the game this week, reckon it will be a cracker.:thumbsu:

Sidebottom and Dangerfield have one thing in common, namely interesting surnames. Steele as christian name gives Sidebottom a hard edge, while Dangerfield hints at a player pock-marked with land mines, threatening to bring the unwary undone..
