I love how a bunch of computer geeks feel as though they're above everyone else simply because they've never gotten a tat, as if being a clean-skin will one day be the 'in' thing.
Let me guess, you my friend have a sleeve tattoo,
I can sense your disappointment:)

1870 bitches

Yikes, I've never seen finger tatts on a female hand before.

If you have to justify it to strangers on the internet, then you cant be to confident that you've made the right choice.

I got my first tattoo in the mid 90's and they are far more common now, just use the AFL as a barometer of the increasing popularity. Trick with your tattoos is keep them looking good, get them reinked occasionally, don't put them in any dumb places and don't get the name of a boyfriend/girlfriend done.
I don't think of any of mine as statements, more they a reminders of a particular point in my life.

Usually it's the tough guys with tatts that think they're above everyone else, actually. But as long as it makes you feel tough then good on ya sport :)

Had a friend try to convince me to get one done because she was too scared to do it solo... Really not all that interested to be honest, thought about a few different piercings from time to time but just never been bothered.

I don't look down on anyone until they give me a REASON to look down on them. I've got no problem with tatts or piercings, nor race or religion. Cleanskinned. Sleeved. Prince Alberts or clit piercings. Dosen't matter.

There's good people and there's arseholes, and nobody can rightly know which one you are until you act.

Yeah, as above I like to stand out from the crowd by not having a tatt.:)

Back in the day famous people with tattoos were generally badasses. Drug-fuelled rockstars, the sort of professional sportsmen who clubs wouldn't touch now, ex-army dudes and crims etc. These days tatts are synonymous with people like those two clowns from Good Charlotte, the bloke from Maroon 5, Dayne Beams etc. They are no longer the realm of the cool badass, they are the realm of the wannabe cool badass. Powerfully lame fad. Pass.

In case you missed this blindingly obvious point, those of us without tatts are the ones who don't give a shit about doing something just because it's the 'in' thing. Unlike you clearly.

Actually that's where your wrong. I'm not covered in tats, nor do I have issue with anyone who is. But claiming that you're above everyone because you don't have a tattoo insinuates those with tats are idiots for getting them

A lot of people with generic pointless tatts going around these days so I can definitely see where OP is coming from and agree.

Personally I want one but not one that's generic and meaningless hence why haven't got one yet and won't until I am dead set certain it's something that means something to me and I will never regret.

Not claiming any superiority at all, but you are an idiot. Obviously,
