If you were in Essendons position of needing to fill 20 spots, who would you target??

Gotta say I don't really care about Essendon. They continue to bring the game into disrepute (and show contempt for it), and if they were anything other than an original Victorian club they would have been asked by the AFL to **** off by now. I reckon even the Yankees would have faced more heat from Major League Baseball in an analagous situation.

Essendon are calling the shots. Not playing players to minimise the problem for them because they know their guilty even though they plead innocence.

Should be removed from the comp and Hird should go to jail for his crimes.

The thing I don't like about the solution of bringing in other players, is that the club doesn't get punished. It was their fault. They gave the players injections. They hired the people responsible. Where is the punishment for Essendon? Bringing in recently retired/delisted players on an extended salary cap doesn't just let the continue in the comp, it may actually keep them competitive too.

If you're a team with a bunch of spuds, it's almost an incentive to drug your own players, cos the AFL will just give you replacements

Even decent teams only have to be slightly down to be beaten by anyone in the AFL, a team full of rejects and has-been who don't know the gameplan and haven't even done an AFL preseason are going to get smashed every week.

That's the punishment I'm looking forward to, it's going to be great fun to watch.
