Haselby will be representing Freo in the Grand final sprint . I reckon we should have got Ibbotson to run in the sprint. I dont see the logic of using Hase in the sprint.

    Surely you're taking the piss?

Could have been a fitting send off for Jimmy Walker.

This surely has to be a joke!

If it's not a joke then surely Hasleby is having a joke?

Or perhaps he is over there to talk to clubs?

Assuming the AFL fly them over, pay their hotel and give them a free grand final ticket you'd think the young blokes would be really keen to run.

It's not a joke, unless the full list of competitors on the WC Board is also a joke. He is starting off a 6m handicap, the most of anyone.

    Mark Richardson, anyone?

Maybe they are going to put some pies at the finish line :) Hase should blitz them then.

Handicap's nonsense, the race should be to see who is the fastest.

If anything it probably points to the fact that Walker has been told to clean out his locker.

    Agreed.

2005 when I was at the GF, it was Deledio vs the likes Mark Williams, Walker etc. Genuine sprint, great to watch.

2006 Brendan Fevola won it.

Get rid of the handicaps and bring back the likes of the Davey's and Deledio.

    Haselby....?
I don't get it.. Is the object of the annual sprint to win? Surely one of the younger blokes could do it...
All well, good luck Hase..... Do your best representing the Purple Horde.:thumbsu:

I think Jimmy would probably still beat Hase, even after the surgery :D

Maybe it's the first phase of Hase's new, performance based contract? A $20K bonus if he can get to the final perhaps?

Not sure Peake is really quick. He looks like he gets to top speed and can maintain that speed for a 5 or 6 seconds and he do it often over a 10 min period.

As for Haze. He might be trying to prove a point as well sending a message that he has maintained fitness a month after his last game. If he indicating his dedication then I hope it's Freo who get the benefit from it.

    A midfielder running off 6m.......I wouldn't give Sandilands a 6m start.

Off 6m and he still comes last.
Probably knocked about $50k a year off his asking price.
