Shocking news:(.
After what he has been through and now this,I hope he stays positive like Browne and Dunn.Well I suppose it will at least give his body a rest and at 27 next year he still has a quite a few years in him.

What was it someone said about the curse of the Beacon Award?

Esti, we blame you for this.

Really, it's a damn shame. Just when his body seemed to be going alright this happens.

Chris Smith, come on down.:thumbsu:

Shocking injury...and even worse is that it is in the mickey mouse cup :(

Rid us of it and make the season longer. At least make these injuries count for something.

Terrible news, guys.

He was definitely my favourite Freo player.

But as others have said, all is certainly not lost for Freo's season.

North lost their best forward in a similar fashion last year and went on to make the Preliminary Finals.

Just as one player may get injured, it gives another player a chance to step up as well as putting onus on the team to stand up in the absence of one of their best players.

It's all Memories fault. Apparently a lot of the weight that Hase lost over summer was around his legs. If he was at his 2007 weight the knee would have been protected.

Sorry, obviously was.

I'm not very bright you know. Takes me a while to catch up.

I'm with you now though you kinky bastard.

(btw I think Hase would appreciate us turning this sombre thread into something a little more light hearted)

No no.. I will not take credit for this one... ;)

Very sad news for Hase. One of the nice guys.
Must hurt even more when it happens in a meaningless pre-season game.

I would say it hurts the same whenever you do it.

And all this bleating about preseason being meaningless and it being foolish to risk your best players is a bit rich (not necessarily talking about you royalsfan). Tell you what, next year lets have the Eagles play not one single preseason game or intraclub game, and Fremantle will play the normal amount. Then lets have a derby in R1...

exactley...you guys have lost Kerr for some time in a intra club match....
you may class it as meaningless, however these matches are necessary for players to get match fitness...
yet you want your club to come out and smash everything from round one...
There's no pleasing some people....

It gives me the shits too!

Hase does a knee in a NAB Cup game and it's Harvey's fault for taking the NAB Cup too seriously. Imagine if Farmer went to smother Glass on Sunday, and the impact caused Glass to tear his ACL. Would that have been Worsfold's fault, or Farmer's fault?
