Haze has "a cousin to a hernia" what does this mean? Is it a groin injury ? is he sufffering form Ostitis Pubis?
Not sure what it means either, but the end results is that he is slower and obviously isn't doing all the training between games and is thus putting on some weight.

At this point I wonder if it is worth playing him again, or start healing him up for 2006.

From what i've heard, when Hase got the injury, it was either 1) Play out the season injured or 2) have an operation and be gone for the entire season, with there being no middle ground. Hernia operations take months to recover from, your core stability and stomach are basically stuffed for 6 months.

Schammer is my MacManus. I reckon he's deadset firetruckin' useless. He's selfish, has poor vision and his skill's are carp for a 50 gamer. ...If Medhurst goes, Schammer should definitely go.
I let it ride for a few days, but it was bugging me too much. You are entitled to your opinion, but there are so many incorrect observations jammed in there I'm wondering if I am married to you.

Anyway, obviously I am not his harshest critic anymore. By a long shot. Here is a kid being played out of position, making a real difference since moving back, and you are calling him useless. Find a few more people to call him useless and I'll listen, and consider redeeming your status as someone I thought knew a bit about the game.

I'd much prefer that people could prove me wrong. Its not a conclusion I've come to lightly. But I did come to it. I even went to the trouble of tracking down Colin Wisbey's assessment of him pre-draft. Disposal and vision were in there. His vision is one of the reasons he gets cleaned up so often. And I've been so irritated by him that I've even taken to counting how often he hits a target. Rarely. And I disagree that he's out of position. Most decent midfielders ought to be able to hold their own in the backline. I reckon he's getting under the radar at the moment because he looks flashy.

And I hope he has a blinder on Friday.

Me too Ralph.

He's not perfect. I know his deficiencies, and still have the Wisbey summary tucked away. I agree there is a tendency still to bang it on the boot, but skill-wise I have no complaints, other than penetration by foot, which I believe has improved. And I have felt he hits his targets by foot better than anyone else in the side, except for maybe Black, and Hasleby on song. Vision-wise, I reckon he gets hit for two reasons- getting over the ball, and secondly he gets targeted.

He has held on to the ball a couple of times while running lines, but at least he was being creative when Pavlich was covered, and the second option wasn't forthcoming. If Pavlich is on- it goes to him every time, and I've seen them going to him lace out. Surely you have too?

He had eight good (some very good) games on the trot prior to the derby after returning from injury, and has done very well on the HBF prior to Friday night. Name me another 176cm HB flanker in the comp. I can't.

Anyway, your frustration is noted, and we'll have to hope I am right and you are wrong.

I hope the surgery fixes Hazes problem over the preseason. We are lucky to have an 8 day break before the Port Game. Clearly when he's firing so is the team.

Agreed, He is our most important player IMO.
Big statement Rip, and I agree to some extent, but take S. Parker away and where's that put our backline ?, spineless without the rock?.

Hase was very good, showed a fair amount of dash.

Hasleby turned the game with that basketball style steal on their forward 50 - he didn't break stride, dashed through the middle and the long kick into our forward 50, which ended up in the very capable hands of Pav (after he outmarked 2 of theirs including Riewoldt). It was pretty much all one-way traffic after that. :D
