Hasn't been a Joffa thread for a while... I'm starting one!

As a non-Footy Show watcher and only semi regiular BF poster I am not completely sure who this much talked about Joffa character is.

Was there just some footage of him on Channel 10 news showing him leaning over the fence screaming in an Adelaide players (Clarks?) face?

If so I'm not sure where all those feral lunatic accusations come from.

There was an interview with Joffa in the 'news' section of the Herald Sun last week. Is that an oxymoron, ('news' section of the Herald Sun)?

On, On the Couch they showed highlights of the Collingwood 'Ferals' from the Prelim Final. Joffa was in his gold jacket and wig. Interestingly there was a young girl in a gold jacket and wig too. The sad thing about that proves that they are breeding!!!

Actual quote from my wife just now, after we saw the feature on ACA: "Joffa, you're a d|ckhead. God love ya, though..."

I actually met the guy at the All-Star Cafe in July, and after we had a good conversation about Collingwood and other things footy, I left convinced that he really is good people.

He has a passion for his club that seems lost amongst all the commercialism and the so-called "theatre-going" nature of the footy crowds nowadays. Call him a "throwback" if you will, but he's just a guy who loves his club, and shouldn't have to make any apologies for it. Ever.

I agree with William, Joffa is a great footy supporter, he has a lot of love & passion for his club, this type of fanaticism is disappearing from Aussie Rules, the chardonnay supporters are taking over.

Let's face it, it is getting harder & harder to be allowed to stand at matches, we are being forced into seats, being told we are not allowed to cheer & yell for our team, because we are giving the chardonnay supporters headaches & the teams have to start getting with the fashion marketing & get new strips, because the poor couch potatoes have to concentrate too much to be able to tell which team is which.

I say let's get back to the way people supported their teams before the advent of TV rights & over the top marketing.

Bring back the ferals.

Yes that was Joffa, and it has been shown a few times. I personally have never met or encountered him in person (perhaps the fact i live in WA might explain it), but IMO from what i have heard about him, Joffa is just a passionate Collingwood supporter. Feral lunatic accusations are sometimes uncalled for as there's nothign wrong with showing that you love your club.

I live in WA too but have met Joffa a few times in Melbourne & here, also one of the few times I will agree with you myee8, get feral & support your club.

They showed the same footage earlier in the week on 'The Fat'. Tony Squires thought his name was Joffy!

Agree entirely Pedro, thought his comments and antics were juvenile, puerile & pathetic. Fancy making those sort of stupid comments, was it just coz the cameras were on him or is that the real deal ??
