Going into III.8. Seems like a div I can compete in. Be a good season if I can get a qualifying position. The guy I'm replacing has similar hatstats as me which is a bit scary.

I wish I had a bot.

Ended up winning my game and I would have finished in the top four had the top team not lost to the fourth placed team. It's not like it was a dead rubber for the top team either, the loss has cost them automatic promotion.

In my qualifier I've definitely got a better team than my opponent but since when that has that meant anything in hattrick. :(

won my qualifier 3-1, put up a formid (high) midfield rating on MOTS.

the 2 teams that come up are decent, going to be a battle to finish top 6 again next season.

bought a new keeper & defender to get my defence ratings to something competitive for the games that i pic & break even in midfield (most of them) so hopefully the late season form continues next season & i can push into the top 4, anything less is a step backwards after finishing 5th this season

How did everybody else go?

I know Ed Gein won his qualifier to go into Division III which is a great effort.

I won my qualifier 6-0 with my striker scoring all 6 goals.
 
won my qualifier 8-0 against a bot so im now into iv something.

I doubt ill be able to make the top 4 in this league but hope to get a qualifier as thats probably the best ill do in this league.
 
had a 1-1 draw at home, only 3 chances in the entire game, prob should've won but am missing my lvl 18 SP taker

my div IV league has gone from one of the easiest last season, to 12th overall this season, & i put up the lowest hatstat ratings, gonna be a tough season

Could be a long season. :rolleyes:

In better news my 18 year old brilliant defender made his debut for the Oceania U/20's which is pretty cool. The fact that Oceania missed qualification into the next stage has meant that the focus has turned to the future and they'll be playing 18/19 year olds for all of this season to increase their experience going into the next U/20 World Cup. He was a product of my youth academy so I'm rapt to see him in the team.

Hehe, brilliant defender! Most likely he was pulled at 17 and 0 days at very high solid or low excellent!

Yeah, he was a high solid straight out of my own youth academy. In fact I promoted him just after the changes to the academy so it worked out really well.

He's about to turn 19 and just qualifies for the next world cup. Because the Oceania U/20's bombed out in the first round of qualifying we've got friendlies until the start of next season. Therefore they are playing a young team in order to get the players experience up as quickly as possible. Worked out really well for me.

Been looking for one with at least inad passing and winger as 2nd and 3rd talents, but a mate told me defending is a good third talent to have, better than winger.

What are your thoughts?

passing + technical and play them defensive. The higher the passing the better, the problem is, the more expensive they become.

I play him defensive and his midfield contributes towards that, but his passing + technical combination balance out any loss i get to central attack by playing him defensively.

I don't actually know too much, but i'm not sure if defence is helpful on a striker, i could be wrong.

But i'd go with excellent + passing. I have these 2 as well;

And along with titanic wingers i used to get monster ratings down the wings when playing them as strikers towards the wing. I think around world class, but since the new match engine came into effect not so long ago, it reduced my ratings down to formidable or thereabouts. And i have since been told that training them in passing would be more beneficial now.
 
Very nice sainter! He'd be worth a few bob if you decided to sell him! How long are you going to hang onto him for?

I've never had anyone even remotely close to selection. lol Up until about 6 weeks ago, i'd only sold a couple of youthpulls for over 100k in the year and a half before that. So i haven't really pulled anyone worth considering keeping for training.

Although i hope it changes, i'm taking my 2 FTW's right up to mythical wing, i hope they would be considered for their respective NT's!

i think you want playmaking as a 3rd talent & to play him defensively...

I'll most likely treat him the same as my other defenders and sell him once he's 22 I think.

I've hung on to my current wing backs even though they're 22 because my replacements are another season away. I wouldn't be able to get away with crap defenders at IV level. Hopefully my two wingbacks will net me around $15 million combined. Unfortunately I reckon that money will be used to fund a promotion race next season because I have a nasty feeling that I'll be relegated.

Yeah, I've never been close to a National Team player until now. This player just came through my Youth Academy and fortunately in my case Oceania failed to advance to the next stage.
