Having played Hattrick for 7 weeks most of my trainees have gone up from passable to solid. I'm also training defence and it certainly is hard at the start to buy 10, 17 yearolds plus a coach, but I managed. Most of my trainees I bought on passable, looking for secondaries in winger.

Yeah I know what you mean Ed, I have been restraining myself from selling players that have only gone up one level in the hope of making a quick profit. I am going to stick with my trainees though, although the 20% extra for foreign players is going to be tough to handle when there wages increase.

Sainter, I am already looking forward to life in Div 6! Instead of getting beaten 6-0 by teams I may be able to pick up points. I did like my old league though despite getting killed the tipping competitions in the league archive were a lot of fun. This league looks fairly boring in that regard.

won my cup game 3-5 PICing with my 2nd lineup. So hopefully i can make it into the 3rd round this year after getting an easier opponent than last year.

As I was training stamina I played my full strength team.

Ended up winning 3-0 which is slightly disappointing having had 85% possession in the first half and 94% in the second.

My solid coach has dropped to wretched leadership so I don't think there's any point playing with the MOTS or PIC tactics. I have a player ready to upgrade to coach but I might as well save him for when I'm promoted.

That was the idea so I'm glad to hear that you do the same thing.

I'm usually paranoid about injuries but I thought it was worth playing them for that reason.

Unfortunately I got drawn against a far stronger team in the Cup next week and have little chance of winning but I'm still going to play my better trainees in that game and the others in the easy league match. The extra experience will come in handy.

I got trundled 6-0 at home today when the midfield was slightly won by my opponent 52% and 54% in the 1st and 2nd halves. He did MOTS too and its pretty disappointing as i was hoping to push for promotion this season. But i guess maintaining the team spirit could give me an extended cup run depending on opponents.

A 4-0 cup loss to me. Half-expected due to the quality of my opposition in comparison to my team. I need to add a quality striker as the number of chances he squandered put us out of the game.

I had a wonderful week.

Made my Div V debut, fell behind after 3 minutes and got flogged 6-0.
In the 2nd Round of the Cup i played another Div V team. I was 1-0 up at HT, it was 1-1 at 90mins. Lost 4-3 on penalties after my usual penalty taker missed.

As expected I lost my second round cup game again.

I lost 1-0 but was happy with my tactics. Ended up posting my highest ever amount of hatstats (147) but his team was just more experienced and too good for mine.

Time to concentrate on the league.

Do you need to apply for the cup competitions at the start of the season, or do you get automatically entered when your team is good enough?

I am aiming for 4th spot in my league, only one team is a bot. Lost 4-1 away today to one of the top 2 teams in the league. Have a home match next week against a team who I should beat.

Just keeping my head above water financially, but should be making $$ by the end of the season. It is nice to see some of my trainers improving their abilities.

Given our league size, the top 8192 ranked teams are automatically entered into the cup each season.

As you're knocked out you then need to apply for friendlies each week to train your second teamers.

won 3-0 PICing so once i get my team spirit high enough i think i should be able to dominate my league. all my trainees have reached excellent with one formidable and is only 20 so should be able to get him to a decent level and sell him off in about 2-3 seasons.

Nope, its only an added feature. It doesn't affect the turnout or maximum you get. I have a 54,500 size stadium, but the stadium i've built is only 52 or 53k and i sell out to 54,500. So its ok.

My members are coming along nicely (I have lost 1 league game & after every win there are 17 new members joining up twice a week) & a couple of my trainees are starting to rise in their levels.

This is technically my second season, but I am counting it as my first. I got a team with 2 games to play (I think) last season, lost both but started well so far. Watch it all crash soon though.
