probably true.

Depends on who you value more.

Steele is probably the player we were crying out for. Him and Mihocek
I don’t think you would find anyone in football who would have a bad word to say about jack champion bloke always gives 110% effort, in a ideal world I would have rather kept him , but we need to be giving Garcia more responsibility happy to see him doing well at Melbourne were a experienced mid was needed
The media hype around their free agent signings was laughable at the time. Spent many millions and didn't bring in single star player.

Flanders, Silvagni and De Koning..... just lol
Silvagni playing well had a good last season to at Carlton its a matter of him staying on the park and he will be a be a good inclusion , the others I agree have been average Tdk wouldn’t have been so bad if we had taken the trade value for marshal

The big money deals will likely end in disaster.

The TDK deal looks like a complete shocker early doors

At 27, he's about what he is as well.

Keeping your own player for $2m per season hurts as well.

Melbourne are getting way more out of Steele than St Kilda are out of Flanders at the moment also.

Seems like a whole heap of currency and the war chest for being exactly where they could have been in the first place.

They have seen some really good natural improvement in the likes of Max Hall etc.

They now need it out of Travaglia, Phillipou (lol, that contract), Tauru etc.

If King ever discovers his legs again, he will obviously make a big difference.
We really didn’t have much choice with the nas price tag unfortunately if we didn’t it pay it port would have done and he would have been gone

Played two home games (1 Marvel, 1 MCG), and an away game a stones throw away at the G.

Going interstate 3 times in 6 weeks is not noteworthy - it’s par for the course for non-VIC clubs. All have done so 3 times this year, except for Adelaide (twice), and Brisbane (4 times).
The big difference is that the non-Vic clubs then have 3 genuine home games (generally) against teams from interstate, to balance out the 3 interstate games they’ve played. So they have 3 games with a huge home ground and crowd advantage.

We on the other hand had played 6 games, 1 on our home ground (against the reigning premier), 3 interstate (against the local teams, on their home ground- two of which we won, with a 1 point loss to Adelaide in the other) and two games at the MCG, against MCG tenants.

Think I saw it was the second hardest draw of any team over the first 6 rounds.

It gets much much easier from that point on.

Also worth noting that we’re playing a much faster, take-the-game-on game plan in the last two weeks in particular.

Resulting in scores of 102 against Adelaide (in Adelaide) and 143 on the weekend against West Coast.

We were generally very solid in the first few weeks, but since the bye we’ve gotten better and better and are playing a much more dynamic style of footy and scoring much more.

This is technically an off topic question. But does your mob the saints face Port in Docklands this season?

Through gritted teeth, I believe the AFL have given us the privilege of playing an SA side at our home ground this season.

Saying that, we have been drip-fed a couple of Port/Marvel games over the past few years, but we have only played them there six times since 2010. Additionally, we have only played the Crows there five times since 2010, with last time being 2019.
