Up until the past 3 weeks and all of last year we have been criticized and ridiculed by TV and radio commentors and other supporters. People predicted we wouldn't win a game this year and others even went so far to say Richmond should be kicked out of the AFL.

The past few weeks I have felt more optimistic than ever before. Just wondering how fellow Tiger fans are feeling and whether you feel we have "turned the corner." While I still believe there is a long way to go, especially compared to the top sides, I now feel that in most other games we are a chance.

Being a young side no doubt there will be some bad games here and there but for the first time in a long time I am feeling very very optimistic. Hardwick has been very impressive.

we are not quite there. Backline looks good, Midfield just needs that one extra class player. And forward line still needs more work. Im not expecting much from Griffiths yet so ill give him a few more weeks. Ruckmen looked really good today.

its a slight glimpse of something great, i would have said 3 weeks ago to expect the same performance against the roos, but they look to be turning that corner aswell.

knowing we have a star to build our forward line around makes a massive difference. griff and astbury will be better next year so we will have a pretty menacing forward line (hopefully)

We've got the indicator on and are just about ready to make the turn. Jack still needs a good wingman to take some heat off of him. Midfield is looking solid but needs more class and the backline while solid today has been exposed at times by the better sides. Be happy with the glimpses we are getting at the moment and remember that there are still going to be some games where we get torn a new one.

It feels like it.

Grabbing a few more class mids in this draft as well as a lively forward would be good.

Collingwood are 40 days away so we will be spared until then.

Brisbane,Sydney(debitching game),Freo,Kangaroos.

Looking forward to the next five weeks. Lets start judging us on the scoreboard as we are at that stage.

Foley is that classy player for the midfield, although we will look for another one this draft (and still think Polo could slot into the side if his form stays good in the 2nds). Definitely need to work on our forward line, but its very young and developing. Happy enough with our backline (need one big bodies defender though, Posty/Goo?). Rucks were decent today I thought..

We should be well positioned after this draft imo. We have a good core bunch of players with huge upside.

I don't really see us 'turning a corner' this time around. It's more like 'climbing a mountain' but it does feel like we've left the base.

Yes, Richmond has turned the corner. With the player cleanout and instalment of hardline disciplinarian Damien Hardwick, the Tiges have broken the cycle of failure. I don't expect you to make the 8 but I now know, from the evidence of the last month, that the Tiges are a completely different footy club.

I follow Hawthorn. I felt deep hatred for the way 'trust me glorious 5 year plan' teflon 'terry' wallet fleeced Richmond.

How do you all feel about 'terry' now?

And how good must it feel for you guys to see your team toughen up and be able to run out all 4 quarters of a game? Really happy for the Tiges.

The sleeping giant is gradually awakening. What an improvement by all players concerned since R1. Always had faith in Hardwick and his colleagues to transform our youngsters into a super competitive unit!

You know although I had hope today, I was scared it was going to be a match where we left ourselves down.

You know, how its always happened, one promising performance and straight after, a flogging.

But this is a different era, the same mistakes arent being made, so proud of the boys, Nason stepped up today, its hard to look away from Riewoldt, but we had a few guys who played very well.

Edwards & Nason really impressed me.

...showed the skills today...ok it was only against the 3rd bottom side...and we did it with good football...not the old helter skelter frantic footy that gets us over the line...we are improving...i think we need more bulk in the side so as we can inpose ourselves on other sides...its looking real good so far...:D...

What I liked today was Hardwick talking about Jack at the press conference after the game..... gave him the well-deserved plaudits , but finished by pointing out that he "had a day out today , but Merrit will be waiting for him"....previous coaches post Northey would've been telling us nothing other than how the future's so bright he needs to wear shades...whatever Dimma's flaws may or may not be as a tactical coach will be revealed by this time next year, but already he seems to giving us his greatest legacy...CULTURE SHIFT....regardless of how his tenure unfolds..if that alone sticks, we should all be eternally grateful...:thumbsu:

Great win today but...........we are a long way off. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with what I' seeing this year. Effective zones, emphasis on contested footy, the 1%ers. Realistically we are at least 3 years away from challenging for the 8 yet alone becoming a good side.
