I think everything's going to ramp up next season. There will be a lot more emotion, passion, hatred at our games. The noise level will be at nothing we've heard before. Melodramatic? Shit yeah...but seriously it's going to be far more intense. As for booing of the players...well we can count four clubs out for booing. Saints, Dogs, Dees and Power. As for other teams if they do boo we should target one or two of opposition players. Immature? Shit yeah!!

Definitely Hawks for me...

Ever since the line in the sand game in 2004..

Hodge still plays dirty..

Ugh..

I can't stand their arrogance.

I don't mind Carlton or Pies these days..

Yeh but Hawks are a legitimate annoyance of a team in almost every way possible...their best players get away with almost anything and I often walk away from a game wanting to throw up.

Carlton, like them or hate them are not these days, it's more a rivalry based on old hat traditions..

Let's just see what happens when Essendon and Hawthorn are somewhat competitive.

Then tell me that rivalry is gone.
What will happen is we'll show them that we're a much bigger club with 55% plus of the crowd at their home game and 70% plus at our game.

What makes the rivalries intense between Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood, plus Richmond if they ever get their shit together to be a genuine top 4, is the crowd and the amount of supporters giving lip during the week. Hawthorn just doesn't have that. Yes they've managed to increase their membership numbers but people who actually give a shit, it doesn't come close.

Traditionally everyone hated Collingwood more than anyone else. Over the 90s the hatred between Essendon and Carlton over took that because after one good season Collingwood were largely irrelevant. Also I believe the ANZAC day game has brought our supporters close together and despite his own racist moment Eddie has turned around Collingwood from the house of scum that McAlister allowed to fester there.

Essendon was a large club but didn't have as rich a supporter group as Carlton. Carlton bought players while Sheedy tried to develop young kids. We were poles apart in how we went about it but still were both able to sustain success through an era. We became shit kickers at the same time and both stuffed up the following rebuild because of club mismanagement.

Trust me when I say in 5 years time as GWS wane and top teams can't hang on to the top for too long (like the current crop have due to the new clubs taking all the picks that would have helped middle of the road young sides get a better list than the top sides) Essendon and Carlton will be up there again. You'll hate them more than anyone else.

**** Carlton.
