AFL tried Essingtin on Good Friday but failed.

Blues v Norf looks like it will be the permanent fixture which makes sense as both suburbs are closest geographically to the Royal Children's Hospital anyway.

With your recent success, Hawthorn would probably have over 150 K paid up club members in Victoria if you paid all your home games in Melbourne

If that were true, then why are the Hawks trying to stay beyond Tasmania entering the comp?

Probably because its easy cash — and the membership has accepted it for so long. And then there is the 80% or so win-loss ratio (but even then, how often do we play weak teams in Tassie?) If your metric as a CEO is to secure a major sponsor, give the football department the best chance of success do you take 4 games in Launceston or potentially 4 at Marvel? I'd go down the Marvel route but heaps of Hawthorn fans bizarrely disagree with me on that.

My view is that there is absolutely no reason why Hawthorn - as easily the fifth biggest club in Victoria (and its not even close) shouldn't be playing full time in Melbourne even if it means we end up with 6 games st the MCG and 5 at Marvel like Carlton and Essendon in the future.

I would love to see Geelong play 11 games at their rural and regional stadium and not give away home ground advantage to cash in on Hok Ball and the Hollywood Hawks on Easter Monday…but we can't always get what we want I guess.
