While North Melbourne will vacate Tasmania after this season, having committed to Western Australia, the Hawks are keen to continue at Launceston’s soon-to-be-redeveloped UTAS Stadium.

But with the Tasmania Devils set to enter the competition in 2028, it remains to be seen what happens to Hawthorn’s home games after the AFL’s 19th team is formed.

Hawthorn will want to add to its MCG games once its presence in Tasmania shrinks and ideally would play a home game against the Devils in Launceston.

But the club also has a relationship with the Queensland Government that sees its AFLW team play one game a season in Cairns.

Bailey Smith has burst out of the blocks in his first game for Geelong with 10 touches in the first 15 minutes, his white headband making him impossible to miss. He has combined well with speedster Max Holmes, who has kicked a goal already.
