There has been much talk about how our problems are with our back 6. Whilst we are not necessarily star studded I do not think we are bad there as many make out. Also looked in the paper and saw that Hawthorn's back 6 is Brown, Gilham, Guerra, Birchall, Murphy and Ladson.
Whilst I don't watch the Hawks much with the exception of Brown would suggest their back 6 is not so star studded yet they seem to be well touted for a top 4 finish. Could it be that our problems are a combination of things. Perhaps a midfield that is not as ferocious when we haven't got the ball as it could be. Also perhaps a forward line that is letting the ball come back too easy?
With regards to the back 6 for us my main concern is with regards to discipline and consistency. Waite has been great some games and a little loose at times in others yet is imo a very gifted player. Also believe Thornton and Scotland to be very skilled but lacking in discipline at imes. Jamieson to me is very solid and developing and I think Bower is also developing. Add Setanta as perhaps a running half back and things are not so bad.
