Hawk Skipper Out For Year

Courtesy of some footy website I was looking at earlier...

Hawthorn officials have tonight confirmed that Hawthorn skipper, Shane Crawford is likely to miss upto 12 weeks with an injury recieved half way through the third term of the Hawthorn V Melbourne match earlier today at the MCG. Crawford grazed his right elbow and broke the fingernail on his left index finger during a clash with 'hardnut' Demon, Peter Walsh. Hawks officials feared the worst as Crawford let out a huge cry after the incident, but with unbelievable courage and superior fitness he inspirationally continued on in the last quarter leading his beloved Hawks to victory over a helpless Melbourne.

The decision to continue on in the final term may not have been a great one by Crawford. It looks as if he further damaged his injured fingernail and slightly damaged the gel in his hair which could set him back an extra 8-10 weeks.

Crawford was rushed to hospital and refused to comment after the match.

Disappointing news for Hawks fans

MORE WOE FOR HAWKS

Still reeling from the blow of losing captain Shane Crawford for half of the season, Hawthorn were struck another blow when chest surgery on forward Aaron Lord revealed a stunning abnormality.

Dr Ian De House, who performed the surgery, was stunned to find Lord's chest cavity completely vacant. "After we'd pulled the ribcage back, and got his lungs out of the way, I went to have a squizz at his heart. And there wasn't even one there! No ticker whatsoever!"

Medical researchers around the world are flocking to Melbourne to examine the professional sportsperson who has no heart whatsoever.

The Hawks were struck a further blow when John Barker refused to come out of his trailer after half time, due to a lack of response from the audience to his ball-waving theatrics at the MCG today. Barker muttered something about "artistic philistines" before screaming "MAKE-UP!" at the top of his voice, and slamming the trailer door behind him.

(P.S. - loved those seven goals today fellas - keep it up

Lol Danny. But surely the reason Holland missed today wasnt the thigh, he must have stayed at home with the thremos and 'the Archers' on the wireless!

Think he was hearing something about how tough the Farmers of this world are doing....
