Just started a Hawthorn podcast with one of my mates. The Hawk Talk Podcast is fun, lighthearted listen, brought to you by a couple of proud and passionate fans. We're newly listed on iTunes, you can find us here. Alternatively, you can grab an MP3 of the latest episode here. In this episode, we discuss...

- Roughy's journey from cancer diagnosis to captaincy
- The legacy of Luke Hodge
- Two long-forgotten biographies - one on Dipper, the other on Platten
- The latest on the Arden St JLT game
- Our plans for what's been dubbed the Anti-Fantasy Team. It's Supercoach, with a slight twist

Any feedback you have for us (preferably constructive) would be much appreciated. We want to make this thing the best it can be! On that note, we encourage you to rate, subscribe, find us and follow us on Twitter - @HawkTalkPod. At the moment we're going monthly but once the season starts we'll be uploading new eps weekly. Help us get this thing off the ground! (Apologies if this amounts to an ad/spam for some people)

Haven't listened to it all yet but so far, very good. You two seem to have a really good chemistry that keeps the show flowing considering it's a podcast in its infancy. So yeah, I've only listened to half of one episode (the latest one), but I love the intro and everything seems to be of a much higher quality than a lot of other new podcasts.

Some feedback;

- Do either of you guys read much on BF? If you do, you would have known the signs regarding Roughy have been super positive for a couple of months now. You both sounded super surprised about his current state which I found slightly odd given all thats been reported lately, not only here, but in the general media, and from the way he has been training since well before Christmas.

- I dislike itunes. Its just a pain in ass to use on my phone which is the device I use to listen to all my podcasts. Your MP3 link seemed to download very slowly so I cancelled it and instead opened that link with Google Play which wasn't much better. Might I recommend something along the lines of SoundCloud? There are also many other similar sites that are much more user-friendly for podcasts than what you currently have available.

I know BF isn't always reliable but even if you guys just read most of whats on our board here, I think it would benefit the show. The training reports on here, for example, would be an excellent topic to discuss.

Other than that, top effort guys. Looking forward to more.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm new to Big Footy, myself, not sure whether Tizz checks it out. I guess as far as the Roughy stuff goes, we were aware he was tracking well, but it's more that cancer is, y'know, cancer. Also it's one thing to return to play footy, but another to look at being a regular in the side, and another again to assume the role of captain. I personally felt the swell of media reports was all hysterical hype because, after all, everything in the news is either the best thing that's ever happened or the worst. It's not interesting to rein things in and say, 'Yeah Rough is a wait-and-see case.' Absolutely delighted he's back, obviously. So excited to see him run out there again.

Happy to report we are on Soundcloud, the latest ep is here. Our account only supports a few eps at a time at this stage. Going forward, Soundcloud will only host the most recent uploads. Apparently we're on Pocket Casts too, though I don't know how that happened as I didn't set that one up. *shrugs*

Like I mentioned, I'm new to Big Footy and look forward to reading more and getting involved. You're right, it really could benefit the show. Thanks again!

cant be assed with iTunes - pop them on soundcloud & i'll listen.

See above for the link!

I had a good laugh when you were discussing Dipper's and Platten's books.

Loved the latest ep guys. Much easier listening to it now that you're on soundcloud. Really good ep. Covered just about everything. Informative and funny too.

Super pumped for tonight now. Can't wait to see Rough and Jaegar in action... finally!
