Firstly, the "No Kane Cornes" Rule is back

It's a shame if the Pies give their future 2nd for Hill because I reckon their future picks are worth betting on in terms of perceived value.

Harder draw and less coin-flip wins and they could easily be back near us on the ladder.

Much better bet than getting one from say Melbourne (which they might get as part of the Grundy deal).
As a supporter you've got to be happy with a club that backs themselves, instead of trying to rebuild every year until an anomaly season

Ain't this the truth. For years now we pay way overs to bring talent in and yet receive stuff all when trading out thanks to GW. Pies can eff off with a 3rd rounder and Poulter for TOM - NO DEAL! As for Gunston, pick 70 is pretty useless, surely we can exchange some pick swaps to get in the vicinity of late 40's most likely 50's..
3rd + Poulter is overs, unless there's salary retention

Just think their is room to be a little bit firmer, we don't need pick 70 peace offering just let him walk
I'm all for trying to work out a deal that provides both clubs with something they want.

We want first rounders and picks inside 30, they want to increase their total pick points.

Obvious solution would involve getting their first rounder as a pick upgrade while providing them back later picks that maintains or improves the amount of points they have for matching.

That pick could score us Meek.

Meek and Poulter for Mitchell is enticing from a list management perspective.
We'd have to get Freo to agree to the future 3rd though, which at this stage seems unlikely

Grain of salt and all that. This just popped up on the Fox Sports live chat:

GW usually pays big in trades.

I expect Mitchell for a couple of 1st rounders.
Case in point, a future second and 43 for Ian Hill. A 22 year old small forward whose season high is 14 goals. Wouldn't rate him anywhere near that.

That's a terrible trade for the 'pies

Particularly when they drop back to the pack next year on the back of not winning 10 straight games under a kick.

Yes it is!

Don't you know anything???
I'm fluent in sarcasm and you don't need to hear this but still have to say this at least once per trade period:

A race is a competition to get somewhere (a place) before others. It's about doing things fastest, or getting somewhere.

The 'race' for Bowes is not about a club getting him before the others do. So nobody can LEAD the race. Literally every club can make an offer right up to the point of him deciding on a club. They can make multiple offers. They can update their offer every five minutes. There is no race.

There's also not a queue. He's not a shop.
