Hawks bog ordinary

er...sorry to tell you, but me thinks no GF this year fo Hawks. But, um, keep on hoping!!! Who knows, you may get another team that kicks 1.10 in a final!!!

Me thinks your wrong. But thats what me thinks. And me thinks is not always right. But me thinks that ok. Me thinks that is ok? So me thinks me will keep on hoping... dud.

Yes, we were poor last week, with several regulars out but yet we still beat Carlton when they were at their best. :thumbsu:
We were so much at our best that we made four changes to our side and could have made more. We then had an article about how poor our bottom 6 players were. Don't be mistaken, a few of our players went missing when we needed them most.

Depleted backline, missing Gilham & Croad. Have no key backmen so we're shoving Campbell down there to do a job and his getting murdered. Fev killed us last week and Llyod & Neagle tonight.

What a load of sh*t.

Essendon's fullback is out injured, their CHB is playing in the ruck and their number 1 ruckmen is gone for the year. You blokes can't keep using injuries as an excuse all year.

The Hawks lost: wheel out the haters for more of the same.

Pathetic effort but it is the wake-up call that is needed.

Its round 7 people.

Get Guerra, Birchall, Osborne, Hodge, Bateman, Gilham, Croad, Ellis, Mitchell and Young match-fit and clicking and Hawthorn should return to the team you all know and hate.

Easier said than done though....

Essendon really rolled the dice tonight, and they got through Hawthorns zone with relative ease. Hawthorn looked slow, and that first quarter really cost them of any momentum, and they really should have been a few clear at the first change.

Even with Gilham back in the team, the Hawks are still pretty thin down back, and if their midfield isn't getting their fair share of the ball, then more often that not they'll get exposed.

Didnt you know, Hawthorn are the only team with any important players out due to injury. Most of their playing list is injured too. In fact, the only one who is fit is Rioli and he is the next football Messiah.

How many of Hawthorns' starting 22 had an uninterrupted pre-season? Not only do they have an extensive injury list, but they're playing blokes who are clearly underdone.

Bombers have their injury problems too...but the 22 on the paddock tonight at least have a base of fitness...and when they play the run, run, run game a team with underdone footballers will struggle to match them.

With Bateman going down again, adding to their injury woes, the Hawks are in real trouble.

Very ordinary.

But Essendon are a lot better than they're given credit for. They've now beaten Hawthorn, Carlton and Collingwood.

Good luck sunshine - you thinks what you like- me thinks you stink. Basically, the Bombers are ordinary (I am embarrassed we lost to them). But essentially, they belted the Hawks. Im getting my money off the sinking Hawks ASAP. You look terrible. Everyone is queuing up to play you at the moment- including the Power!!! Now thats a worry!!!

What is so bad about Port? I know we look terrible I aint defending the way we are playing atm. But I would not write us off completely.

Just cause we won the premiership does not mean we have 'depth'... If I am not mistaken we have one of the youngest, if not the youngest lists in the comp. Hence, no depth.... So why is everyone so suprised?

...because all bloody summer all we have read is how superior the whole Hawthorn organization is to everyone else.

.....maybe Essendon are just so fast they make good teams look bad?

First Carlton played crap, then Collingwood and now Hawthorn.

We did play crap but that takes nothing away from Essendon, you guys were great tonight and are starting to build a really good running team capable of taking the points from anyone.

Considering you had your backline missing, the young guys out there did an outstanding job and it was a well deserved win.

Wow. An intelligent post. Rare thing that.

To answer your question, of the GF side, Cyril, Willo, Dew!, Roughy, Mitchell (who has been injured since)and Renouf would be the only ones who have had a clean bill of health during the off season. 6 players.

Seriously paying the price for the flag tilt.

....and I wouldn't change a thing!

Got smashed tonight. Too many people in the team thinking it's just going to happen. The injuries are there but Essendon have just as many. They need a kick up the arse.

The most noticeable thing for me in tonight's game was the lack of Hawthorn numbers getting to contests. Most contests seemed to be tilted in Essendon's favour, with it consistently being 2 against 1 or at times 3 against 1. It was a very lazy performance by Hawthorn, but at the same time a strong effort by an Essendon team that kept the pressure on for most of the game.

It's simple, they won a flag 2 years before everyone expected and so they overperformed. So this form slump isnt really much of a surprise.

I believe Bomber Thompson predicted this. What a footballing genius he is (apart from that Stokes on Hodge and Lonergan as key forward in a Grand Final thing).

Hawks injured and lazy and nearly gone for 2009.

essendon will come back down to earth very soon, but they should enjoy it they were good for a young team. But if they think they are going to be top 4 they are kidding themselves.

think you will find 99% of essendon think we wont make top 8 let alone top 4... it was a great win but we must be competitive for more then 1 week...

cant really use that as an excuse... bombers had fletcher, hille, mcveigh, welsh, hurley just to name a few
