His draft year was a couple of years ago and we didn't nominate him then.

He's 20 years old now.
He's nominated for the Draft this year though and moved to South Australia to play SANFL and is now in NT trying to get attention.

I agree though I doubt he will get drafted.

More likely to spend some time playing at Box Hill and develop there
If he's already nominated for the draft in a previous year, what happens when/if we want to select him in a subsequent draft?

Do we lose the F/S concession, or can he go straight to Cat B?

I don't think Cat B is an option because he's been playing football over the past two years. Unsure about the F/S concession, I would assume we'd keep it, but can't say that with any certainty due to the AFL rules being as solid as water.

Thought F-S had to be nominated before the draft.

Remember these rules got brought in for VFL for 2020... don't know if they apply for 2021...

  • An additional rookie list of two players is available to all VFL teams which will include NGA players and players who meet the AFL category B Rookie criteria.
  • A father/son rule will be introduced in 2020 which allows a club to list a player whose father played 100 games or more for the club (including AFL and AFL aligned clubs). These players will be listed on a club’s development list.

Shaun Burgoyne’s eldest son. Is he eligible for the 2022 or 2023 draft?

You can add Will Roughead to the list.
Baby Gibo (Josh Gibson) is a boy and will be born this year.

Sincere congrats to Mr and Mrs Franklin for bringing a future father/son into the world this morning. Hope he has his mother's calves, Buddy's don't seem to work so well.

The kid to play first 10yrs of his career with Hawks and then can go to Sydney on a COLA 'deal'. Swans will be hoping his calves do not keep failing:D
