On day two of the Hawks Community Camp, the players split into four groups to venture off on a road trip around the north west of Launceston.
Wynyard, LaTrobe, Tamar Valley and Penguin communities welcomed the Hawks who held clinics, signed autographs and met their supporters.
A group of 12 that included Barker, Jacobs, Vandenberg, Ball, McGlynn, Sewell and Boyle received an eye opener when their tour consisted of a visit to the Ashley Detention Centre. The corrective services centre has kids aged 13-18 who, while a giving the boys a little bit of cheek, where only too happy to be have a kick-to-kick with some of the Hawks' best leaders and players.
The team has had a few opportunities to train at Aurora Stadium where the Hawks' will meet Fremantle in Round 1 of the 2006 Premiership Season on April 2.
The Hawks return to Melbourne tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday 8 February and resume training on Friday 10 February at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham.
