Drafting the players they did only Jordan Lewis will play next year while Richmond and the Dogs have players that will make a bigger impact. ie. Griffin > Lewis. Hawks with Franklin and Roughead are KPPs so wont make much if any impact in 2005 ensuring the Hawks get another prioirty pick 2005! Go the St Kilda styl.e

I think both Roughead and Franklin will get some game time next year, especially if one or both of Holland and Barks not playing, they would be our only real talls.

Its certainly a nice set of numbers...

495 possessions for the year at an average of 26 per game, with a worst performance of 20! Averaging 7 marks a game is not too shabby for a midfielder either...

Welcome aboard, young man.

Actually, Lewis only played 16 games for the season, thus his average disposal count is not 26, but 30.9 per game.
Can't wait to see him racking up the posessions next year with the Hawks.

Richmond hasnt exacly gone for short term solutions either :)
Yes but Deledio and Tambling will make a big impact at AFL level next year. Franklin and Roughead are less likely to. Chuck in Graham and Simmonds compared to no one. The Tigers will do alot better next year than the Hawks. I reckon the Hawks will win in the long term tho.

Simmonds is a long/mid term player.
Graham is only there to help us untill our kids mature. He will only play 1 season, maybe 2.

Deledio might play 15/18 games next year but he is still a long term player, very much so. Bottem age, huge scope for inprovement; as Wallance said that extra year he has on most other is vital. He will play 15+ years for us. :)

I doubt Tambling will get many games next year. Hopfully 5 or so.

With your list Tambling and Deledio will both play 15+ games. I didnt say anything about long term players. I said the players you drafted were more likely to make an impact in 2005 where as Hawthorn's werent due to the types of players drafted. In 2005 who Richmond recruited will make a bigger impact than who Hawthorn recruited. Hawthorn will probably finish near bottom again and get another priority pick where I doubt Richmond will. Richmond may finsih around 12th and will not get another priority IMO.

My point was they will more than likly have a good showing next year but their primary purpose is of course long term.

I still wont see us comming above the bottem 4. However we may well have a better season than last thus not having as good picks.

i reckon Lewis went a little ealry, buts that just going on where he was put in Phantom Drafts, i wanted him to be drafted by us at 16 or 20 but Hawks were too quick, but we got Tambling :p

Little bit suprised that the Hawks took Lewis, not because he is not talented, but because with Mitchell, Ries, Sewell and Hodge I would have thought they felt they had enough centremen.

I would have thought a pre-draft objective was to inject some pace into their midfield but they didn't do that.
