Good to see the Hawks trading for the future again, they have picked up Everitt and Hunter. Why on earth they went for Hunter, who would know.

These trades better deliver them a Premiership in the next 2 years, Schwaby is definately trying to get one quick, knows his head is not far off being on the block.

Good luck.

Pick 39 for basically a 100 game player

Doesn't seem stupid to me

The Dogs are the fools. Lovely way to fix our problems iwith height in defence

Obviously wanting to become the 'cult hero' team these days.

Practically speaking, with so many youngsters established in the team this year, it would be hard to bring too many more in. Draft is apparently weak too,

Next year I expect they will do another 'croad' and dangle a 'juicy' young player for early draft picks.

Everitt as a ruckman/forward (along with Thompson) will allow one of our current young ruckmen to be on the bench and get game time. Hunter is no star but a very good back up tall - fast and a reasonable mark.

Hunter is OK if he is used carefully. Under no circumstances can he play on someone who wrestles - he was outmuscled by Peter Burgoyine FFS.

He is alright on a leading player - always did well on Tarrant for example.

As a full forward he kicked roughly a goal a quarter in 2001, but Wallace still wouldn't play him there for any more than a 1/4 or so at a time.

Clearly a better player than Cox.

Kingsley aint a defender. Hes too slow upstairs.

Hes a FF or hes nothing, I reckon.

You beauty !!

Cox was a revelation at Hawthorn in 02. I really hope you are correct in your evaluation of Hunter.

Yes Schwab has gone for the quick remedy and invariably risked the clubs future. Whether or not it delivers in the next two years is the question. After that, the window of opportunity will be gone. Really can't understand why the side would take Hunter.

It doesn't matter if he is slow or not. He has some good experience and that's what matters

Michael Tuck will be your first pick in the draft then?

Hes a dud, you were dudded, just deal with it.

We were dudded. We get pick 39 in a weak draft and have now lost 2 tall defenders when height in defence is our major problem

Duds don't play 100 games, something which Kingsley will probably do in round 2 next year

As a neutral, this sounds like a lose-lose trade for both sides. Dogs needed the height, either in defence or up front, and I can't see how Hunter benefits Hawthorn at all (unlike Everitt, where they need a ruck/interchange with Thompson and Everitt needed a new challenge).
