Willo just needs to learn to take the ball out in front. It's frustrating to see him get in the right spot on a good lead, only to have it spoilt because he tries to mark it on his chest. If you watch the game again, watch for Roach to Deledio in the sceond quarter. If Willo did what Deledio did, in that instance, he would be a far better player. Great game nonetheless.

Not much of a mention of Dixon in this post. His leadership in the forwardline was first rate, he seemed to be the one telling the youngies where to run and where. HE is an example of how to mark on a lead. Apart from Barker, he has close to the best hands at the club at full tilt, and for a left footer, has a wicked right foot. Credit where credit is due for his game. It's not all about stats.

BTW, has Clinton Young got a massive kick on him, or is it just me ? WOOOF !

Chance bateman was excellent.
Young Roughead will be a player.
Guerra has been a very handy pickup.
Lewis looked very good at times.

Your disposal was more deliberate than ours. You guys seemed to show faith in your own blokes. We seemed to hope that they would get it.
I thought that Williams created well inside 50 and taught young Roach what it is all about.
Look forward to seeing developments (or lack of) when we play for points.

its always better to win that lose, no matter what game you play. tigers should have won, even though it was a b grade team,
Both team had starting 22 players missing. Richmond perhaps slightly more important, but not much more. I wouldn't be hiding behind that as a reason.

Miller - slippery - this guy is better than buddy and has more heart
Better than Buddy? Improved, yes.. not sure if many/any would say better than buddy after a NAB cup match, well I spose one would.

Croad - nice work on their forwards if richo kicked str8 croad would have looked silly, besides the score board , richo beat him hands down
Croad didn't have the best of games, but did alright. To say 'if richo kicked straight' kinda gets old after a while. Richo doesn't kick straight.

roughie is 10 times better than buddy, he showed glimpes of hard special things , lets hope he can keep it up
Roughead looked pretty good, different player than buddy, buddy definately looks more of an x-factor, burst type player, who will frustrate supporters whilst he is still 18. I wouldn't go as far to say 10 times better, Buddy still is our most exciting prospect IMO.

buddy did not stand up, his game was as poor as his attitude, his only positive was his only ok possession where he passed to williams to seal the game
Buddy had a poor game, so did Osborne, first game of the year, didn't kick on, but many more games to go in the pre-season still, let alone the real season, so thankfully coaches don't right players off as quickly as you are attempting to do.

But hawkers please dont let a win in the nab get to u, its just the nab
Maybe you could take some of your own advice, its only the NAB cup, maybe we shouldn't be writing off teams or players at this stage.
