While top 2 is now gone and with it our best chance for back to back. I'm more certain now than ever we won't be competing next year so need to make this year count.

wtf?? i would of agreed with u 6 hours ago...but we are still 2nd boss...

Looks like Scott Thompson did a hamstring for the Crows and Danger looked proppy (as he seems to every week thesedays)

Their forward line is tall with Walker, Jenkins, Lynch, Pods so it will be very disappointing if Lakes brain explosion costs us next week aswell

Sando in his presser said Thomo copped a corky so they rested him given the score in the last quarter. Danger also played out the game without any issues.

OUT: Lake, Ross & Sewell
IN: McEvoy, Woodward & Hill

So at worst we'll be 2nd at the end of this round, but top 2 is gone?

We're still in this up to our eyeballs I would have thought, disappointing last night, but finals are 2 months away, far too early to throw the toys out.

Anyone else think Lake was wrestling because he did damage to some part of his body, knew he was going to be out for a few weeks but had an injection to see him through that game.. it would explain his demeanour.. angry at his injury?
Not worth the carry over points. Not worth the result either. Wrestling and playing the man rather than the ball has never worked for us (Essendon 09, Geelong 12 (i think it was) and again Friday night).

I did see him earlier in the game grabbing at his calf and doing an awful lot of stretching and work with the doctor/physio out on the ground to loosen it up. If it was serious he wouldn't have played on but there was some discomfort there for sure

We have to win every game to be guaranteed top 2. It's not going to happen.

Port play Swans and Freo

Swans play port and us

Freo play port and us

Geelong play Freo and us

Teams will take games off each other

I think the top 2 will be one of Swans/Port and one of Hawks/Freo

The best outcome and hopefully the most likely outcome for top 4 will be
1. Freo
2.Geel
3.Haw
4.Syd

Thats us losing 2 more games (Most likely Adel/Freo or Freo/Geel)

But who knows, still pissed after Fri nights effort, but we did the same V Rich last year then went on a run. Just a waiting game now.

Really hoping that the crows have a comfortable victory against GWS today.

Don't need them to have any external motivation this week like Norf had last week

There shouldn't be a lack of motivation, we are still one game behind GC, Norf and the Pies so this will be season on the line stuff for us

Hope you don't mind me clarifying

Thompson's injury was not a hammy, it was a corky and given that the game was well and truly stitched up at 3qtr time the club made the right call to start getting the ice on the corky straight away given the 6 day break

Danger has payed banged up all year so I will be very surprised if he missed this week

IMO the biggest risk may be Thompson however if he did miss we have Matt Crouch ready to step in who gas had 35 and 42 touches in the past two games in the sanfl

The big disappointment to come from this weekend is that we could have had a game break on third place. Now it looks like Sh1tney will have a i game advantage over the rest Oh sh1t!

On a side note, does anybody know how long before Billy Hartung return through Box Hill. Hill Billy and Smith provide us with great spread, run and carry, espacially on the MCG, and I want to see that trio together again.

That ladder wont happen. Swans wont lose that many games.

Jeeeze some of you children are quick to throw the toys out of the cot..

We were Flat as a tack on Friday night. I don't think that will happen again..

McEvoy clearly to come back in, Sewell out hopefully Langford back in for some grunt..

Hope Birch, can find his legs on the track this week we really need his straight running and disposal through the middle, Hilly is super important to come in and run hard at the Crowtress...

Geelong top 2?????

Dogs could beat them today.. Geelong are rubbish!!

Massive witch hunt on Sunday Footy Show to get Lake suspended. Petrie doing his best to talk it down though to his credit.
People like to have a go at his football ability but he does appear to be a very decent bloke based on this and what I've seen of him on AFL360.
