This game is a real problem for us now in my opinion. We have a very good, physically tough midfield but the outside run is an issue with Hill out and Hartung missing so much football. The Crows are a very good football team, in my opinion a top 4-6 team when up and going and they will be very hard to stop if they can match it with us in the guts. Sloane is a jet and everybody knows what Dangerfield can do to any team. Walker has had a number of games back now and should be starting to hit some form and Jenkins continues to be underrated. I watch them most weeks because I like the way they go about it and can see them giving us real headaches now that they have a sniff that their season is retrievable.

I think we have just enough in the tank to win but this is going deep into the last quarter in my opinion.
I would always back a team that is risking missing out on a top 4 spot against one that is playing to hang onto a 5-8 spot.

The real questions in this match are:
- can we get back to normally intensity. Last week was terrible.
- can our defense tighten so that we keep them to around 80 points
- can we go inside 50 effectively enough to kick 100 or so points.
- how big is this home ground advantage?

In terms of personnel we still have them covered:
A forward line with Roughead, Breust and Gunston
A midfield with hodge, Lewis, Burgoyne

Yeah the backline is a little light on, but you get where I'm going with this.

The pain killer jab was tongue in cheek buddy. No-one, including yourself or the footy club should understate the importance of this match. We can ill afford to lose to teams next to us let alone outside the 8! If we win this week then we look a hell of alot better coming into the Swans after the bye, I have faith, always have but I'm a realist as well, I don't live in a fantasty land. This week is huge, for the club and for some individuals in that side.

im with u mate...most important game of year. im gona need 10mg of valium to get through it.

Agreed, not sure if I like having Ross and Simpkin in the same team..

Good to see Hale not being sent to Box Hill but been given some time to rest and recover.

Great to see Langers back in the team. Do not drop him again, whatever his deficiencies are more than made up by his abilities to win the ball.

Guessing the rationale behind Simpkin is they needed a ball-winner after Sewell going out. Simpkin is probably the most able to get those kind of numbers from what we have in Box Hill atm (despite his disposal efficiency being poor). Ross is for run and carry, as Hill/Hartung are still probably a week away. One of the two will be the sub.

Still, these two will probably both be out the door if Hartung/Hill are fit next week. Hopefully Langers does enough this week to hold his place in the side, over Simpkin and Ross. It's very comforting to see out of those three, Langers is the one not on the bench and posted as Ruck Rover. Hopefully he can do as well as the previous one in Sewelly ;)

Disappointed to see Simpkin back in. Has an impact as a sub when others are tiring but doesn't impact a game for four quarters. If he gets a full game I don't like our chances....

I really worry about Simpkin's disposal. I see passages of play breaking down so often at his hands. Really disrupts our flow and momentum. Haven't seen enough of Ross to pass too much judgment but at this early stage I feel that he's in a similar category. Langford has a lot of upside and I think his attack on the ball makes up for whatever deficiencies he has in his game. Plus I see a evolution in his skill set which i think is really positive. He seems to be able to analyse the game and adapt himself and is adding a lot of strings to his bow as a result.

With rain forecast (plus the fact that we do it every week) it wouldn't be surprising if there is a late change. Duryea has been under an injury cloud so maybe it will be him.

Great to see Langers and Big Boy back in. Hopefully Simpkin can be the super sub.

I'd love to see Woodward in if Duryea doesn't come up with Ross playing back. However, more likely that it will be Cheney.
