Mitch is just a legend, nothing short of the one of the greatest
Better than Crawford, dunstall, platten, lethal ... He's just an out and out champion gosh I will miss him.. I still miss Crawfs but Sammy will be painful:(

WCE were better but we were never a chance with 25 vs 22 one of the most one sided finals i've ever watched anyway.
What do the umpires have to do with it if, as you admit, WC were better?

Revenge for 1991 would be good, if we play off again. :p

We will. Freo are our bunnies. Sydney still piss themselves at thought of playing us. Just have to survive next week and we will see you in the big dance.

Wake up call to all and sundry - players, fans and recruiters. Much as we'd love to - you can't stay on top forever. Hard questions need to be asked - player who don't want to answer need to look elsewhere.

With Hartung looking the goods - Hill needs to be shopped. He's looked good in good sides - but that performance showed that he has downhill skier tendencies. We need someone hungrier and with better decision making abilities to be in the side in games like that. I've never talked like this about Hill before - but Jesus was that a wake up call tonight.

Again I've never been a McEvoy hater - and he did the job last year in the big one, thanks Big Boy - but time to see if we can do something else ruck wise.

When a hungrier, younger and under strength side humbles you in a Q/F - it's a big sign of what's to come. Bullets need to be bitten. Even if we make another GF via the next two games / the writing is on the wall after tonight.

I reckon lethal and Hudson were the two best ever to pull on a pair of boots for the Hawks, if Huddo hadn't done his knee I don't think Lockett would hold the record

I would say Mitchell sits comfortably with our other greats and there are some greats, don't forget Knights either

Why opposition supporters need to come on here and troll is beyond me we do a good enough job of eating our own without help

That was a gutting loss we were out played and it looked like out coached
West Coast out worked us and shut down our space, and our blokes didn't run hard enough to break that, we've played like that many times this year, gotten away with it a few times when the opponent couldn't keep it up but we played like we thought we were going to lose and needed to conserve energy for next week.

Mitch is a beast he is still our best player, it wasn't his most damaging game but we are going to drop off a cliff when he retires, once in a generation player
Sizzle came out on fire and took a half to recover from the first quarter but he tried his guts out

Decent games from a few others, poor games from too many. Chip was not the issue tonight and you gotta give the guy a break in his first final when most of his team mates server up the crap they did

Injury to Gunston just topped off a bad night hope it's not as bad as it looked

The umps didn't cost us the game they just made the game even worse for anyone not barracking for west coast. I don't recall ever hearing the C7 commentary team point out so many missed frees to the Hawks, it was very strange but if those guys are calling out bad calls they must be really terrible. Not a good look for supposedly the biggest sport in the country to have the officials be that poor in a final.

Going to be a loooong week feel for the supporters that have to spend it in WA

I'm soooooo happy I live in WA....

Excuse while I vomit

This season is reminding me a bit of 1987. I still feel we have something left in the tank. We can win two games to get there. Two remarkable performances needed...

Then anything can happen. Hurts like hell at the moment however trying to extract the positive.

KOLOKOTRONIS
I wish........

That effing clanger from Suckling out of the goalsquare perfectly captured why I will never like Suckling as a player.

Elite kick. Then he has brain explosions like that.

Honestly. The day he is traded, I will dance a merry jig. I do not care if he plays his role blah blah blah, I really just don't like his game. At. All. (please refer to rant earlier this year where I voiced the same opinion).

That kick in by Suckling, Breust's poster, followed by another easy miss by Hale (I think) put us behind the eight ball right from the start. Had those gone our way, we may have been able to be a couple up at quarter time. Having said that they always seemed to have 2 or 3 free players to pass to. Some of our turn overs were not due to pressure, but carelessness. A bad loss, can we recover, I hope so.

Was fine to keep the 30+ players while they were pushing us towards another flag, but may have to start thinking about replacing them sooner than we thought.

2016 to be a mini rebuilding year if we fail to win next week or a prelim.
Yes ..... This team has had the same look about it for years now .... These guys have been absolutely awesome but where does the improvement come from?
If you're not improving you're going backwards.
We've brought in Frawley and McEvoy but these guys don't seem to be smart clever footballers .... More like big mooses

Can we address these concerns of yours after we 3-peat?

Despite so many individuals being terrible, some temporarily, others permanently, I thought the attitude to take the game on and attack wasn't there at all. It's like the players were so negative in their approach, so caught up in tactics that they forgot to be attacking, take the game on and put WC on the back foot. Only when the game was over in the 4th did they start to play more attacking.

Bad luck tonight. Just out of interest did you just suggest Mitchell is a better player than 1000 goals Dunstall and 8 time B&F winner Mathews?

Promising signs in the last quarter. Hodge and Rough started to step up - pride's still there and if they take that into next week, who knows? Still alive...
