Wake up call to all and sundry - players, fans and recruiters. Much as we'd love to - you can't stay on top forever. Hard questions need to be asked - player who don't want to answer need to look elsewhere.

With Hartung looking the goods - Hill needs to be shopped. He's looked good in good sides - but that performance showed that he has downhill skier tendencies. We need someone hungrier and with better decision making abilities to be in the side in games like that. I've never talked like this about Hill before - but Jesus was that a wake up call tonight.

Again I've never been a McEvoy hater - and he did the job last year in the big one, thanks Big Boy - but time to see if we can do something else ruck wise.

When a hungrier, younger and under strength side humbles you in a Q/F - it's a big sign of what's to come. Bullets need to be bitten. Even if we make another GF via the next two games / the writing is on the wall after tonight.

If we are worried about pace and desire did we have one too many talls tonight? Why was duryea the sun when he always brings intensity?

I know were all experts after the fact, but i really think we shot ourselves in the foot when we elected to kick with the wind in the first. Dermie's comments about the 1991 GF, when the eagles, who elected to kick with the wind, made a big mistake. Its a final. Players are nervous. And they take time to get into the game, meaning you waste your opportunity of scoring with the wind. And that's what happened.

Also someone said that finals are just a mirror of the problems you have faced all year. We had too many players go missing, tackling was woeful, forward set up was horrible and we just banged it in long.

I still believe we can win it, but maybe were just not good enough this year.

I am surprisingly upbeat after that result. West Coast played a great game plan and outplayed us for 2.5qtrs us but we still have a decent route through to the GF (especially if Sydney wins). This season is not over. The equation is the same as it was before the game. Win 3 games and we are premiers. If you had offered me the Bulldogs at the G Freo in Perth and West Coast at G to win the flag at the start of the season I would have taken your hand off. Lets regroup and move on quickly.

Did anyone notice that we played better when we lost the hit outs? Hale/Mcevoy broke even in the first 3 qtrs when we got thumped and then when Hale went off Naitanui starting winning them all and seemed to get a lot more of the ball. Not sure if there is correlation but makes me think when he can hit it to space they man up wider anticipating that. Clearly we perform better when we have space than in tight.

The ironic thing about big wins like that is that they sometimes come back to bite you on the arse. A Hawthorn v West Coast granny at the G will be a vastly different proposition than playing in front of 40,000 ferals and 3 petrified umpires in WA. I think we need to just file that loss and move on knowing that although we may meet West Coast again this season one thing we all know is that it wont be in Perth. #StillKicking
