Frawley is copping a battering but its clear to see he's being played out of position. Not his fault.

Meanwhile, we had Gunston playing in the defence. Some bizarre tactical decisions tonight.

Would much rather Shoenmakers in the team to play that floating forward role. It really was quite harsh to drop him a few weeks ago but perhaps he has a chance to squeeze back in.

Hang on mate the last 2 weeks Frawley was the ducks nuts playing that position,what happened there.oh that's right sub grade sides

This is spot on.. The "depth" has been toiling away at Box Hill while we had no real pressure for places in the senior team. we have started to develop a culture of accepting players putting in half efforts and letting others bob up to pull us over the line in games. "Go when it's your turn" is dead... It's too late to take a broom at the selection table, they need to find hunger somewhere.

This is definitely one issue I have with Clarko.
We have the best VFL team in the competition, and we should have the best depth of any team in the league.. so what is the benefit of that depth if its rarely used?

I don't want to name names of players who have underperformed this year (we know who they are) but has a big enough fire been lit under them by cycling enough kids through the side? O'Rourke, Anderson, Langford, Whitecross & Simpkin have barely been sighted in the seniors this year, particularly in the second half of the season.

I'm not saying Clarko should go crazy on the back of a loss and make wholesale changes but the threat of a big-name player losing his spot has to be there or that depth loses a lot of its value.

Congrats to Eagles, they wanted it more and were the better team for longer. We played poorly but get a second chance, so we will have to recover and see how we go next week.

Mitchell was our only 4 quarter performer..

Hodge, Rioli, Burgoyne, Lake had good patches

Langford started well but fizzled out.

Hale unlucky to get subbed, should have subbed McEvoy

Nearly 1/2 the team played their worst game of the year:
Lewis, Frawley, Hill, Rough, Breust, Stratton, Gibbo, Smith - if you're not fit don't play..simple, Puopulo, Suckling...

Players like Breust, Hill, Birch ect. have been consistently piss poor all year so it was unlikely they would come good overnight.

I'd like to feel optimistic but it's hard after watching that garbage.

Tip for the boys, how to handball.
Step one, practice catching your fist without the ball.
Step two, now with the ball on your non preferred hand, hit ball just below where the stitching meets and direct it to your team mate, remember to catch fist.
Step three, remain in the contest by following up your handball by either presenting again to receive or laying on a block for your team mate.

Frawley forward brings it to ground and that's it really. Rough hasn't had a good year, tonight was the embodiment of that. So many players I could tear into on an individual level.

We are royally ****ed when Mitchell retires. We also need 2 Riolis. 3 wouldn't hurt. Also want to see Duryea start next week, will always compete, be accountable, basically the type of player that can act as a handbrake when things go wrong.
