Lack of speed, lack of desire. They've been our Achilles heels all year and tonight was no different.

I gotta say though, its pretty scary how strong those West Coast players have become this year. Their kids were shrugging off our veterans in tackles as if we were the younger team. Even first year player Sheed was breaking them like no tomorrow. Pretty clear in my mind which club has won the "sports science" battle this year.

After saying that they were deserving winners, nevermind the rubbish umpiring which we expected. Our own fault we didn't get a home final, the arrogance & casualness with which we played the first half of the year basically sealed our fate. Our season is now over I would say, perhaps an honorable prelim loss perhaps not, but no chance of the flag.

Clarko needs to rejuvenate the list over the summer. Run & carry is now more effective than long kicking when players can close down space so quickly, especially when they're constantly allowed to creep the mark against us.

People are going to smash Frawley but he's a defender that was stupidly started forward then had to go back when west coast were already on top. Give me a spell if you're blaming him at all.

Agree. It was more of Clarko's mistake than Frawlys. I thought our back line was less to be blamed than the mid field and our forwards. Roughy and the forward line was terrible. Pop and the small forwards was never able to lock the ball today.

Structures looked all at sea and some players horribly out of form or unfit. If we go down next week so be it, but at least look like a semblance of a properly drilled team and put away all those low percentage plays that provide easy turnovers.

Tonight we went in with the 14 GF minus Spanger and plus Frawley. People were talking about that as a good thing.

It's not, it's a very bad thing. Hawthorn have not progressed this year and have really stagnated. Instead of having faith in a player like Hartung or Duryea throughout the year these players have struggled to cement a spot in the team because the selection panel has reverted to the old favs time and time again.

Off the top of my head, here's a list of Clarko's screw ups from today -
1. Starting Frawley forward
2. Not bringing in Ceglar who could actually nulify some of Niknat's taps (every clearance we got was under pressure and to no one, whereas all theirs were clear ball to the outside)
3. Playing Smith who was obviously not ****ing right
4. NOT. TAGGING. SHUEY. in the second and third quarters (how many ****ING clearances does he have to get before we try and lock him down??!?!)
