Was pleasantly surprised to read that earlier today - our 4 MCG away games all included :thumbsu: Was preparing for one of the Marvel away games to sneak in there in place of one of them instead.

Anyone happen to know how the replacement game reserved seating membership add-on works by the way? Not something I've ever really considered and usually have no issues rocking up with my old man on the day to sit in wherever the designated area is, but am interested to know what 'quality/section' the reserved seats are - are they simply a randomly allocated seat within the 'designated replacement seating' area? Or something else?
Might be something I look at for the both of us in the coming years if it looks like providing value.

20 yrs for us.

We have Gold with guaranteed access to every game in Melbourne (and Tassie too)

It's absolutely worth it (we are now in the better seats on the wing) esp in those sell-out / replacement games and IMHO it's better than a replacement add-on.

The only downside is the ridiculously restrictive small window for claiming the reserved seats at away or replacement games in Melb. I think last season it was a 3 or 4 hour window, which isn't great if you work.

I'd honestly recommend this to everyone though as it's the easiest way to guarantee a seat at every single home and away game in Melbourne.

Adult H&A is $685 each - but there is now a waiting list on all Gold / Platinum memberships unfortunately.

Does anyone know when Ticketek makes available member seating for the replacements games?

Our website says ‘go to Ticketek’ but the games aren’t up yet, it would seem.
Yeah nothing many of the tickets have been released only round 0 and gather round

Member replacement games Reserved Seating upgrade

As the Hawks play four home games in Tasmania, members receive general admission access to four designated away games in Melbourne known as Replacement Games
2025 Member Replacement Games:

Members with general admission access for replacement games will be able to upgrade to a reserved via Ticketek using the barcode listed on their membership card. Tickets will be available in mid February.

Lethal, Legends & reserved seat holders with a replacement game reserved seat add-on will have access to redeeming a $0 reserved seat within the Hawthorn exclusive allocation.

Members with replacement game reserved seating can redeem their reserved seat using their membership barcode via Ticketek (MCG) and Ticketmaster (Marvel)

Tickets for repalcement games will go on sale in mid-february

Other Hawks members can secure their reserved seat for the four member replacement games in Melbourne with an allocation exclusive to Hawthorn reserved seat members*.

What’s a repalcement game?
Its another teams home game.

That we get access to as a replacement for the tasmania games. (if you have home game member access)

I as a silver member get the "reserved seat upgrade" to ensure I have a guaranteed reserved seat ticket for these games.

Otherwise you just scan in and fight it out in general admission.

For the person who asked where the reserved seating is....

As a silver member I always end up behind the goals with the cheer squad on level 1, sometimes its the same sort of area on level 4. So i believe the bay may be dependent on the level of membership (as someone else said they get a seat on the wing - so im guessing they are gold or above)

I was annoyed it took so long for the replacement games to be named. I emailed them a month ago and was told it was going to be a week out and that the AFL was dithering over the last game... a month later....

As an interstate member i have flights to book and do not appreciate it being so close to the season as the costs increase.
(I also hate that they dont reveal the last half of the season for the same reason, cant book flights at a low cost)

Ticket day for those who observe:

ticketek for the 4 replacement games at the G
ticketmaster for the marvel game vs the Eagles

They usually are dedicated seats and u get to book them online when they get released. Like finals its first come first served. They cost u nothing when u reserve them.
Appreciate this response again TFP. Ended up purchasing the add-on for the old man and myself on the Friday so went through the process today of getting seats online for the away matches. (took a bit of time on the phone to the club as the original membership barcodes had been cancelled with the upgrade causing a reissue of new numbers, albeit not yet arrived (expected) so a bit of panic ensured at midday!

I like the few allocated bays on the wing for three of them, albeit top level, but at the front, and the behind the goals front level against the Dees is fine also, but may end up trying to sneak further around if lots of GA seating remains on the day.

Thanks so much for the post. Im terrible at checking my emails and hadnt seen it arrive.

I have flights for all 5 games and always want to make sure that i get my tickets. All 5 booked, season now ready to enjoy!

Having to contact Ticketek accessibility department directly* to get accessible (wheelchair) seats for replacement games is not ideal.
Not sure how long I'll have to wait here.
*No accessible option from the Hawthorn e-mail link.

All sorted after a bit of ‘fuss’ Ticketek and club helpful.
Have wheelchair and companion tickets sorted for first 4 replacement games.

Can I bring a guest along for free to a replacement game with Dunstall Club?

Do I need to go with the Home and Away tier to get access to member replacement games?

Apologies for the questions - haven’t been a member since I was a kid.

I believe you have to pay for a guest pass for Dunstall Club. Also includes general admission access to replacement games with a home membership.

Just went to get tickets to Hawks v Cats Game and the usual Ponsford stand second level completely sold out, not even a solitary one. Very strange, always scored a seat. Is there something going on that I don't know about? If it is legitimately sold out then happy days and will look else where but a week after release and not a one!!??
Flummoxed I must say.

I wouldn't worry, for most games, they release tickets in bays, and once something is sold or close to, they open up additional areas. There are exceptions to this such as that Richmond game last year and even collingwood I believe in which they did just sell out really quick

What is it with replacement game tickets to the Melbourne game? I organised tickets for the other games (Carlton, Geelong and Collingwood) last week and got good seats. But the Melbourne game, the least likely to be sold out, the only seats on offer were, and still are, are behind the goals in the Ponsford stand!

Thanks OhhhhCyril much appreciated, tricky buggers.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but has anyone had any luck with reigniting their member loyalty streak (i.e number of years as a member) after a hiatus?

It’s been some time since I was a club member, particularly ever since I got the call up for MCC membership. I’m tempted to sign up to the MCC hawks membership, but it would be nice if I could pick up where I left off (20+ year hawthorn member). I’ll probably give the club a call about this, but no doubt it’s something that’s popped up before.
