Just shows how well our club have done things since then. To bring in so many quality players via trade and drafting and cut many players who were list clogging around 09-11 has been the reason we have climbed back to the top and stayed there.
I reckon that after the disastrous 09, the club made an honest & accurate assessment of where the list was actually at!....The 06/07 Drafts could have set us back another decade, but we have 'Wrighted' the ship in next to no-time, by mainly focusing upon trading in on a needs basis, & by targeting mature-aged ready to go players like Smith, Puopolo & Stratton in order to compliment our core group & make the most of our time whilst Hodge, Mitch et al, are still with us

Trade Ins: Burgoyne, Gibson, Hale, Gunston, Lake, Simpkin, Spangher, McEvoy, Frawley, O'Rourke!....Mature Age: Stratton, Puopolo, Smith. Ceglar.

That's 8 Dual Premiership players among that lot, with a further 3 single Premiership players.....Our list management these past 6 seasons has been very hands-On & you'd have to say, superbly handled!

Only Shiels (32), Hill (33), Duryea (67), Breust (Rookie) & Langford(Rookie) have featured in Premierships of the kids we have drafted between 2008-2014.

so our 'blueprint' for success was:
- cheque book recruitment without the cheque book
- 45 degree angle kicks
- kick accurately
- getting rid of buddy so we could have a spread of goal kickers
- have a lot of old guys that might drop off in 2015.

Wow. Why didn't all the other clubs think of that?
No other club was in a position to get rid of Buddy. It was the masterstroke that proved the difference.

Hopefully we can add Jed to the list of imports to have played in a premiership.
