Good to see Tuck making a comeback to top-up his 426 games. He could be handy resting in the forward pocket. Haven't spotted him at pre-season training yet, probably too busy.

I'm pretty sure the guys drafted in 2013 and prior get first dibs on the lower numbers (with the exception of those traded into the club in 2014). The newbies get what's left, which will likely be 36 and above.

Those that wear the number 36 do get the Realhawk "most injured / most incompetent medical staff award" though, so there is that.
Yep, actually the Hawks jumper numbers without a Premiership to date are; 36, 37, 38, 41 & 47. At the other end of the scale, as most would know, number 23 tops the list with 11 Premierships - followed by numbers 2, 3, 9 & 14 with 10 Premierships.

I think they should announce the numbers as soon as the player comes to the club. Adds a bit more fan-fare when the player is presented with the jumper for the first time.

Dermie started with 47 did he not?
Yep, Dermie started with #47 but must of changed to #23 for the 1983 season as he was wearing #23 for that year's Premiership, and later for his other 4 flags.
Others; Leigh Matthews (#3) played in his year and first Premiership in jumper #32 (1971), likewise Chris Mew (#2) who wore #46 in the 1983 GF and later Andy Collins (#4) who wore #40 in his first Premiership in 1988.
Also Chris Langford wore #28 in his first Premiership team in 1986 and then changed to his well known #24.
A final note, the earlier info is not correct as players wearing jumper #2 have also experienced 11 Premierships ala #23.

Thinking Litherland could get the number 12. Looked to be like a leader in the making at training, and after winning the best first year player it would be natural progression to upgrade his number.

If that's the case, I could see Hartung being number 31 with O'Rourke being number 12. Anderson I'd leave for another year until Burgoyne retires (most likely this or next year). Frawley at 13 sounds fine.

Don't really mind about the rookies, but for God's sake don't give Miller-Lewis 36. Kids have enough trouble with injury, don't need to add an ACL injury to that list. Give him Plattens 44.
