Box Hill Hawks
Box Hill only need to win two of their last three (Frankston, Cats, Swans) to make finals. Listed AFL players who have played AFL after July 1 need to have played six VFL games to be eligible for VFL finals. I reckon a winning VFL finals series is great for fringe and developing players, so I hope they all put their hands up. We would have a very strong side.

Lynch 4 games becomes ineligible if he plays Rnd 23 for Hawthorn.

Downie is out for the season
 
Pretty sure there is an injury clause I'm there. A player like lynch may still qualify if he plays more AFL if he's missed a certain amount of games through injury.

Don’t think so. Clubs can make special requests but these are usually only granted if also playing AFL finals (e.g. Cyril returning from injury).

Ah. I thought rioli was granted the exemption on the basis that he had been out for 8 weeks, and as such they couldn't be certain he wouldn't have played vfl (we all know he wouldn't have, but still).

Rules are one game, but if you have played AFL after July 1, six VFL games.

Hawthorn players to play in the first final:

Butler, Blanck, Callow, Hartigan, Howe, Jeka, Long, Ramsden, Saunders, Shiels

if fit- O'Hara

Max Lynch ruled out after being listed to play for Hawthorn in Round 23.
Interesting to see if Shiels plays if he retires.
Should be a great experience for some of our younger players.
 
Surely Hawthorn can apply for exemption for Lynch citing injuries, etc, to request him eligible to play finals?

If Collingwood win they will finish 5th, GCS 6th and BHH 7th. If Carlton win they will finish 7th GCS 5th and BHH 8th. Therefore unfortunately either way we will play our Elimination Final at Metricon.

Not necessarily. There are two exceptions to that.
If a draw or Blues win by 4 or less, Pies will finish 6th and us 7th.
If Blues will by 28+, they will finish 6th and us 7th.
So we could play Blues, Pies or most likely, GC.

I have left our O’Hara who didn’t play today and Butler who was concussed.
 
I am not sure how injured James Parsons is. Would he be a possibility to play? He is our most dominant mid and would be really important to make any sort of move in the finals.

Such a pity Lynch can't play. Ramsden and Brinker-Ritchie have some talent, but are very scrawny.

I don't think we've got enough experience - and consistency - to progress far.
