Updated after AFL Rnd 24.

With top four locked in, time to think about a VFL premiership. Usually a VFL team would be topped up for finals with a few fringe AFL players, but we will have a heap ineligible due to the rotation of our young blokes in and out of the AFL team. To play VFL finals you must played six VFL games, and not more than 12 AFL games (or not have played AFL post June 30 like CJ).
The following players are eligible:
Tucker
Hustwaite
Bennetts
Jeka
Morris
O’Hara (injured)
Serong
Stephens
McDonald
Ramsden
Long
DGB
Kosi
Butler
Bramble
Greeen
O’Sullivan (injured)
Ryan - I am not sure as most of his VFL games were at Preston.
CJ (injured)
Lynch (retired)

Ineligible
Morrison& Finn - 13 AFL games
McKenzie - 14 games - club has requested an exemption as was AFL sub three times
Blanck 15 AFL

Should still be a strong side with 14 - 16 Hawthorn players.

Just looking back at the season, it looks like we haven't played our finals opponent Werribee at all this year? Surely that can't be right? We had a bye every second bloody week!?

Yep. Its ridiculous. 21 teams and 18 games means the AFL get to fiddle the VFL "draw" even more than the AFL "draw".

Coburg even played 19 games while every other team played 18?

Nah, all teams played 18. No reason why they don’t play each other once for 20 games.
