FYI,

Tomorrow's VFL practice match between Werribee and Box Hill will feature a host of Hawthorn stars, including Shane Crawford, Peter Everitt, Lance Franklin, Campbell Brown and Jordan Lewis.
A large crowd is expected at tomorrow's game to be held at the Whitten Oval.

Action gets underway at 12:30pm for the Seniors game.

There is no better opportunity to see your AFL stars go at it, and even get up and close with them at the huddles.

Reserves @ 10am
Seniors @ 12:30pm

It'd be great to see the Hawthorn/Box Hill fans there!

Thanks for the update trizzles.

Wont be attending (got to pick a stove up from Dandenong of all places) while helping a mate renovate his kitchen! :(

Hope it's a good hit-out, no injuries etc. Be sober enough to give us a report later matty. ;)

A big future ahead for Franklin judging by his performance today. He could be anything! Hawks fans should be very excited, as you most likely are already.

kicked 6 and could've kicked more apparently. the best thing to hear was that he was holding his marks.
playing out og FF too, bit a change fro him. hopefully he can take the confidence to go for his marks into the first round.

Box Hill ended up getting done by about 15 points against a pretty undermanned Werribee team.

-Benny Kane was one of the best with a tidy 31 possies off the wing. Still not in premium form but he played well.
-Buddy is a freak. Was running hot today with 6 goals, 3 behinds. Was holding his marks too.
-Crawf and Everitt played a half. Crawf nearly reached 20 possies in that time.
-I actually thought Stephen Gilham did a decent job on Podsy (who really should be on an AFL list). Gilham reads the play well and has strong hands. Got beaten on the lead a few times but that's what Podsy is best at.
-Brown was relatively unobtrusive, Lewis wasn't outstanding but still notched up 29 possies.
-Boyle and Little kicked 2 each.
-My best: B. Kane, Franklin, Gibson, Murphy and Lewis.

In the ressies, Marcus Crook impressed with 3 superbly executed goals and Gooch nailed 5 goals in a quarter. Shame he didn't play the other 3! No Hawthorn players played.

Almost a dozen players from the senior list and we still got beaten by a VFL side?
While I'm looking forward to a better season than in years gone by, my hopes aren't too high - especially after that. Some great key performances by individuals, but if we can't string together a win against Werribee then it makes me a little bit concerned.
Here's hoping though.

With a team filled with household names & superstars like.....
Ball, McGlynn, Kane, Little, Murphy & Gilham get beaten & you think we should just chuck it in and go fishing for a year. Gez.

Spida & Crawf played only a half.

Buddy, Boyle & Lewis - the only 3 starters for next week against Freo played or available all 4 qrts. Buddy kicked 6, Boyle 3. I would say a fair return for a days work.

Brownie played but not available till week 3.

Go read the reports over on hawks hq from the people who actually saw the match.

Gee whiz, hypers. It was just an opportunity for Clarko to do some looking at where some of our stars are at in their pre-season preparation under match conditions a week before the real stuff rather than the result of a practice match.

And if the final scoreboard was important, the margin wasn't much under the circumstances.

Great news about Buddy. I think his future is going to be close to goal, he's progressing nicely, and looks much stronger in his upper body so his marking will continue to improve.

Birchall didn't play?
