With Hawthorn at 8-5 and 6th on the ladder and Adelaide 9-4 and 3rd on the ladder this is a game of margins - though our percentage is very good if Hawthorn win they join us on 36 points

Our selections this week reflect the precarious position our season has put us in with Lachlan Murphy coming straight into a Flank to bolster our young team with his game experience - his leadership will be vital

Peatling misses 1 game due to his tackle last week

Bond , Draper and Burgess have been named as emergencies though it seems Bond will be the only one to travel

Once again this is elite coaching by Nicks to ensure our young inexperienced team has the appropriate standards to follow out there on a cold Tassie night

I imagine we will start fast and look a million dollars and Hawthorn will fight back and the game will be in the balance until Mighty Murph makes a round shape and kicks the match winner

*its not Murph its Maphew

Why would Murphy be back in the side?

Why would Murphy be back in the side?
Not sure if serious

Small forward Lachlan Murphy has been recalled and will play his first game since Round Four.

Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly said Murphy’s attitude while lining up with the Crows’ SANFL side had been second-to-none, and his on-field State League form had also been solid.

“Throughout his career, Murph has been a great example to his teammates with regard to his reliability when it comes to playing his role for the team,” Kelly said.

“To that end, he has had a significant influence as a leader on the team-first approach of our playing group.

“This is something that does not waver with Murph, regardless of whether he is playing at the AFL level or SANFL level.”

“We love his commitment to the contest and desperation to get after the opposition.”

Murphy is a misleading player. He is good in smaller leagues but struggles in the senior side. It was a poor decision to make I think. He aint a Watson or Ginnivan.

Interesting strategy ftom Nicks to tank at this point of the seaon... it's the only explanation for Murphy coming into the side.

Dont know what to make of Hawthorn this year, but a win in Tassie on a Friday night will take care of that last question mark I have on this side.

If we are as good as we think we are, or could be, then last nights inclusion doesn't make any difference to the result.

We cant keep failing in big away games.

Even the Happy Clappers have turned after the Murphy selection

The club put a comment on its Facebook page on the team selection post "Footballers are human too, please be kind or reconsider leaving a comment"

Its that attitude why we can't take the next step, can't upset little Lachie now can we

I tend to agree with the club - its not Murphys fault he got selected

The vitriol should be for the selection committee

As I said, if people were playing the man and not the ball then im all too happy for the club to put that statement out.

Not saying that happened, but IF it did then fair enough.

Murphy ain't the problem. Reports are that he's a great bloke and club man. It's the boneheaded coach and his boneheaded selection panel that's the problem.

The media department always seems to be well aware what the fans think of the players.

The header image on the social posts for team selection is usually the most important inclusion to the side. This time it was Mark Keane. They didn't want to put Murphy on there.

I wonder if they feed back this information to anyone else at the club
