Has anyone seen how many young stars the Hawks have. Thompson, Hay, Croad, Dixon just to name a few. The Hawks have the best youngsters in the league and in 2 or 3 years will win the premiership?

Hell were going to win it this year,Hawkfan. You have to think positive

Actually I think we are very similar to where the Dons were two/three years ago.

They had at that stage Lloyd,Lucas,Carecella,Blumfield and the like coming through. We could equate that to Croad,Hay,Thommo and such.

Essendon saw the need to bring in some hard nuts to and the Johnson's,fatty finn (barnard for those that dont know) are now really established senior list players. We have Butcher Vandenberg,Young (we gave them a pshyco and got one back in return) Rock are giving us some of that type of hardness at the ball.

There are some very good signs for us if you look at where the dons are today and how we seem to be following that sort of line.

Luck with injuries and form will no doubt help and I still feel we need more (but then so does nearly every club) depth in playing talent but yea
, its looking promising.

You have some great talent down there, but I don't think you have enough talnt to fill the void of all positions on the ground. No one ever knows with this sort of stuff, sure there is potential but will the ever fullfill it? I still have my doubts. But lets wait and see, the same that should be said for BOTH Collingwood and Fremantle.

Hawthorn also knows how to win flags.

-Expect the Hawks to be the first team to seriously challenge the emerging Bombers. It's the early 80's revisited !

But who's still there from the 80's/early 90's? Just because they knew then doesn't mean they know now.... I mean hell, Geelong knew how to win premierships once too, but that hasn't helped in the last decade!

But I am pretty impressed with the 2000 hawks. They seem to be far more 'on'task' (re; less bleach etc), and less indecisive. Could the return to form be connected to the appointment of a proper coach?

Anyway, look forward to next week! Half your team's from Perth aren't they? So you guys should feel right at home........

What half team??? Chick/Hay (and Chicky is doubtful) and Jock if he stays in the side.

I think pess meant by the knowing how to win premierships relates to Rock,Fish on the field and the many backroom boys Dermie,Jason and others that still have a role down at the club.

The great thing is to hold onto blokes from past era's to help build new ones.

The coasters should do this with the likes of Worsfold and Mckenna. ie pass on the knowledge of what it takes to win when it really counts.
