I agree on all points. He wasn't that bad. If he'd kicked straight it would have been a very good game.
On the Walters pass in peoples minds its seems to have become Sonny on his own in the square with an empty 50. It was right in front of me (haven't seen the replay) and I though it was the correct decision, by the time he was back off the mark the moment had already passed to point to where there would have been risk involved in laying it off.

Yeah, I was up that end as well and the pass probably wasn't on. He had to back up a few metres and by that time the opportunity was gone. It was a relatively simple shot for goal and should have been nailed.

There was atleast 6 players that had a stinker. Everyone has differing opinions but I saw Suttcliffe get pushed off the ball far too ofte. D Pearce for mine was the most fragile though, just cracked under pressure time and time again.
But it's a team game, nothing to gain here. Lets move on and get ourselves a KPF. Please lock this thread so we can focus on the next challenge.

Sure, I'm not excusing it, but we lost a GF 10 days ago and it's natural lots of good people will lash out at perceived underperformers on the day, whether it is deserved or not.

There are some low expectations if you think Ballantyne performed to expectations not withstanding the poor record of small forwards in GF's.

Dropped simple marks, fell over, missed goals and astoundingly didn't say boo to the opposition. When was the last time you saw Ballantyne not mouth off, not push opponents trying to get up or get in players faces then fall over feigning high contact?

I was worried he'd struggle to get involved. Made plenty of mistakes, as did others, but the intent was correct. Had those that actually went missing stepped up his mistakes might not have seemed so glaring.
